Look, Rob Parker was being stupid and got called on it.
There's NO evidence that RG3 is a republican. Even his father said that was ludicrous.
There's no evidence that Robet Griffin is trying to 'distance himself' from the Black experience. Where the fuck do you even get that??

The only way that particular argument holds water is if you believe being engaged to a WW makes you a refugee from your Blackness, and only a bigot would think that.

    He deserved to be fired.

Rob Parker projected a whole lot of negativity on someone he's neither met or interviewed and decided in his divine wisdom RG3 wasn't a real brotha and decided to speak on it on a nationally televised sports network.

Terrastar don't repeat Parker's bullshit like it's the truth.
It was only that ignorant man's OPINION. No factual in the least.

You can't make a seriously heavy claim that a Black man is attempting to distance himself from the Black experience in order to endear himself to Whites...without some fucking evidence!!!
It would be no different than a sportscaster going on air and speculating which pro athletes are gay with no proof to support his opinion.

You can talk that shit in your living room sitting on your couch, you can't do that when you're working for a multibillion dollar TV network.

tbh you are argument is nothing but strawmen.
point1- prejudice, discrimination have always been of the "black experience". and it doesn't matter where you are from: america, west indies and africa. why do you think we have pan africanism? and your fredrick douglas point is off base, most black i know have read his autobiography. and you know you are in a black neighborhood when you hit malcolm x boulevard. we celebrate successful blacks like mlk and we didn't care who harry belafonte or sidney pottier dated because they fought for civil rights.

point2- again the reason why ppl take offense is because rg3 is the one who is trying dissasociate himself from black ppl not the other way around....he was talking about being colorblind.....safe words by his white handlers to be acceptable to white america. nobody criticises criminals for selling out because they are not. they are criticised for being criminals.....and having an education means nothing if you are not using it. he is as politically aware as high school graduates lebron and kobe. in other words, they only talk when it involves selling sneakers.

watch the whole video, get the context of what he is saying and what he meant, then come back to me.

point1- i'm not disagreeing with that.....my argument is just because a white owned media giant doesn't want to talk about race doesn't mean it isn't a valid topic to discuss. corporate giants shouldn't completely control the conversation.

point2- obviously he is, hence why he said the things he said. he was just speaking to the white crabs not the black ones.;)

point3- they never dissassociated themselves like rg3. they are criticised for their bad life choices.

How exactly did RG3 disassociate himself with black folks?

Theres plenty of legitimate race related issues going on in America that a 22 year old focusing on his competitive profession need not invent them when they're not there to appease the 'righteous' amongst us black folks.

Lets face it, Rob Parker saw the fact that RG3 has a white fiance as an opening to race bait a controversial topic.

You must be getting your source material from hater site huh fam?
I am trying to figure out if you really mean any of this or you're just poking fun.
I like the vast majority of bm on this board have been good students who date white women are any of us trying to distance ourselves from the black experience?
And like Loki said what exactly is THE black experience? Living in the hood, having multiple baby's mommas, constantly trying to explain your criminal record? Help us out because apparently none of us are as black as you are.

    Saw the video

That dude is ignorant as hell. ...So ignorant that he thinks he's someone else's rightful judge and he's ready to make issues out of nonissues on national tv.

tbh you should try reading my posts and respond to that...instead of going on a rant about some strawmen.

point1-where did i mention anyone in this forum ,in this thread? the subject was rob parker's interpretation of the meaning of rg3's comments....you didn't watch the video or didn't fully understand what he was trying to say. instead of taking the piece of out of context about the white wife. he was saying rg3 's mindset was to alienate himself from blacks and to further seperate himself he became a republican, etc. it's not being a republican that makes him a sellout, it's his mindset from the jump. bob johnson is a democrat and he is a sellout. colin powell was always a republican but no one thought he was a sellout until he joined the bush administration.

point2- you are showing your ass.......nobody said having an education makes you a coon.....it's again when you try to push the independent negro horseshit that ppl have a problem with.....bring up the ghetto and all these stereotypes makes you look foolish because i never said that. and if you actually read the post you replied too you would clearly see that.

i can't help your blackness if your reading comprehension skills are so subpar....;)

point1- if you watched the video you would see he said " i am black and there is nothing that can be done about it". like who says that? either he is a card carrying coon or he is an idiotic 23 yr old who let his white agent get in his ear and they are following the mj/tiger formula.

point2-don't sell me that horseshit. you act like black ppl are unicelled organism who can only think 1 thought at a time. poc notice racism but also have the ability to go on with their lives. it's called multitasking.

point3-you know rob parker personally? last i checked he gave a well rounded response it's only the self hating who need to always look for victimhood who take what he said out of context.

You keep defending this clown TERRASTAR and you only make yourself look foolish.

Rob Parker's hating ignorant ass should have been fired twice for daring to question RG3's 'Blackness'. How are you gonna put that accusation on someone you don't even know like that??

    Trust, Robert knows what's up.
Mah dude has been Black since the beginning.

Don't post that weak ass nonsense link. If you have a unique opinion on the subject, write it out.

I just showed you a link where RG3 is narrating an ESPN segment on Doug WIlliams, the first and only AA QB to win a SB.
Not exactly a project a Black Man running away from his Blackness would be involved in, ya think??

Many of us were raised not to judge people based on their race, but who they were, as people, individually.

Yes as a Black person you better understand how this country works racially on a macro level, but that should not directly affect your personal relationships.

Why are people like you on this young dude's case because he didn't come out the box as a political activist??

He's a damn rookie!! WHy make him the target of the 'Black police'??

And tell me why as an athlete, especially an NFL QB, would Robert want to be defined as a BLACK quarterback?? The goal is to be a great quarterback, not a great Black quarterback.

It's you narrow minded Negroes who are putting folks in these boxes because you're own minds are still stuck in segregation.

You can still be an authentic Black man who aspires to live in a race neutral world but is still grounded in reality.

    You should actually spend some time and read the Washington Post article that was linked in the BS you posted;

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...c84306-1eac-11e2-8817-41b9a7aaabc7_story.html

In Joseph Brown’s upper-level class on minority and ethnic-group politics, Griffin encountered African American students with more militant views on race than his, but Griffin was assertive in defending his more race-neutral outlook.

“If he disagreed with something — an author, a fellow student, or even me — he would give his perspective,” Brown said. “He made the class lively, in an intellectual way.” As Brown recalled it, Griffin struck a comfortable harmony between recognizing his heritage and refusing to be defined by it.

Robert grew up with the luxury of living in a race neutral environment, but as he matures and grows, his experiences as BM are going to enrich his personal experience and challenge some of his theories about the importance of race or lack thereof in our society.

End of the day, Rob Parker was in no position to question Griffin's Blackness.
    None of us are.

Outstanding! The author of the newsone article is entitled to his opinion, however IMO what he was saying is that anytime a Black person does anything perceived by some percentage of other Black people as "non-Black" they are distancing themselves from their heritage. That is an insane position to take.

He mentions Tiger, MJ, Kobe ect. as examples, I am willing to bet that all three of them have given their time, and given/raised hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars over their careers to help improve the lives of Black (and other) people, which is probably a lot more than those that are criticizing them for "distancing themselves" with choices they don't agree with.

    Birds of a feather.....

    Basically

I'd like to see what contributions tstar made besides standing on a corner exemplifying racial stereotypes

Great points fellas. Anyone who even remotely agrees with Rob Parker is no better than the clowns who sided with him and were giving him props on twitter on the day the incident occurred.

Last I checked no one made Rob Parker the ambassador and consulate on determining just how black an individual really is. Parker had an agenda from the get-go and back-pedaled only after his corporate bosses jumped down his throat.

point1-you talking link boy........you posted a link of what exactly a puff piece which has as much relevance as tiger"i get angry when ppl call me black" woods when he spoke in a black golfer documentary.
point2- raised to not judge ppl is not colorblind, you ,rg3 and the others ,heck even obama are colorblind.
marcus garvey, malcolm x, mlk weren't. which group do you think is more impressive?
no colorblind person did anything successful......
point3- no one is saying he should be a political activist, the point is he said stupid and ignorant things and many ppl were rightfully offended by it. mind you he can live his life how he wants but we have the right to call out his bs.
point4- its common sense that ppl want to be the best at their position, but only coons who avoid it like the plague. have you seenany of his interviews.
point5- because post sgregation we are living in utopia, you are a simple negro.
point6- race neutral? more like delusional.

You are twisting Tiger's quotes, Tiger has never said he is angry being called Black, he has always said he is PROUD of his Black heritage, the same way he is proud of his Thai heritage, he has said repeatedly that he does not see himself as JUST Black, which is the truth, regardless of how others may see him. Regardless, he has put his time/money/effort where his mouth is time and time again in helping Black (and other) people, that is the definition of someone who is NOT a sellout. RG3 is just starting his pro career, but I would be willing to bet he will do a lot more to bring people together and give of his time, money and efforts to improve the lives of many, than anyone taking ill informed pot-shots at his "Blackness" as if there is only one way to be Black.

As far as your "no colorblind person has ever done anything successful" comment, well it speaks for itself, so I can just assume that you are not interested in a reasonable debate on a complex topic, it is clear you are just looking to make unsupportable inflammatory comments to get a rise out of posters here.

tiger said it in an oprah interview......so it's not some figment of the imagination. he actually feels that way...and he learned it from his dad, the same one who gave shade to richard williams because he thought richard was beneath him and a rice farm mother who didn't even want him with asians. the same tiger who keeps talking about being cacasian where neither of his parents are white? the same tiger who made racist jokes about black ppl? http://www.esquire.com/features/the-game/tiger-woods-life-story-1997
you could take his multimillion dollar rainbow donation and give your self respect along with it.

what reasonable debate? all i saw was a bunch of sad negroes tripping over themselves calling for this man's(parker) head, when i didn't see half this much outrage for don imus. i posted my opinion that parker shouldn't have been fired for his opinion. you jumped in and said espn had the right to do it. my point is just because a white owned medis empire disagrees with it doesn't make what you say wrong. most of you focused on the mention of his white wife. the point is/was that he was talking rg3's mentality. rg3 was a coon because he had a white white wife, he was someone who disassociated with being black and used all these other things as attempt to go further along that path. rob parker took the quotes rg said and the opinions of trusted colleagues of his who have been around rg3 and came to this conclusion. you went on to talk about yourself and showed you missed parker's point entirely.

debate,no.....you wanted a pity party for some percieved insult. and in regards to me, i just shared my opinion. i'm not the one neg repping or like some in this thread who if they disagree with rg3's mentality were labelled as only supporting thugs and criminals. if was you who brought up cromartie. my point is we never questioned his color. he shouldn't be criticised for that the same way rg3 shouldn't be criticised for being a criminal when he is not.

and yes i stand by my colorblind statement because it's a pc phrase used by blacks to seem safe to white advertisers.
