By overreacting this guy went from being the victim of theft to becoming a murderer.

    Stealing the wallet was wrong.
Murdering the kid over it was worse.

BTW, if some punk kid stole my wallet and I caught him, I'm def gonna kick his ass for his own 'growth experience'. But I'm not running some kid over for my wallet.

Tragic ending. :( At 14, he didn't understand that he's actually playing a game of RR when robbing people. You can't eff with people's money. It's personal to many when you steal it.

The driver knew better. He could have easily 'out run" the teen, cut him off and demanded his wallet back. End of it. You don't run a teen down with your damn car over a wallet. A car is like a gun.

He ran over the kid and then pulled him from under the van and started beating the shit out of him? Wow. Glad he was charged with 1st degree murder.

He murdered that child for stealing his wallet. Thats a horrible thing to do!!! Damn he could have just taken it back since he caught up to the kid, and reported it. Not take his life!!!

Overreaction is an understatement in this case and he shouldn't have died but a 14yr old is old enough to know what's right/wrong. If he didn't rob the guy he would still be alive.

Can't expect violence to be neat.

Don't want to risk dying? Don't initiate violence - like robbing people...

    Picking someone's pocket isn't a violent crime.

    It's violent enough.

Don't touch people who don't want to be touched. That's the best way to avoid things spinning out of control.

That kid ruined two lives because he didn't care about the other guy's right to be left alone. Wonder how he felt about his own rights?

The victim ruined his OWN life when he decided his wallet was worth another human being's life.
    Get it straight.

Kids have been boosting wallets forever. Sometimes they get beat down if they get caught, but any victim who wants to end someone's life over their wallet being stolen is soft in the head.

The kid made a calm, conscious decision to violate another person, then things got out of control.

If the victim had decided to beat the kid down, he could've been the one killed these days.

The kid ruined two lives by deciding he could violate another person with impunity. The victim got carried away, which is easy enough in a violent situation.

I don't support theft nor do I want to justify it. However not everyone is can be hired for any job and not everyone can keep said job. To some people; stealing is their method of survival.
