I am hearing some weird arguments in here. In my experience it's garbage in garbage out. You can't hang out with scumbags all day and not have some scum rub off on you. Blasting people with a shotgun in GTA on a regular basis probably isn't good for a kids psyche.

You probably right, But games like GTA and Call of Duty are not made for kids. Those games have M for mature raitings. which means if a kid is playing them it's his parents fault.

2 world wars, which killed off millions and millions of people in relatively short periods, both happened before 'gangsta rap'

but hey...i like how people attribute violence to rap music

hitler et al listened to classical shit (probably)..so i'm more weary of some nutjob rolling down the street in a Mercedes listening to Mozart, or whatever shit those clowns up at Sandy Hook were playing before murdering 26 innocent people

The desire to engage in and spectate violence is as much a part of the human condition as much as eating and sex. Study any ancient and or any modern cultures and you will find some sort of socially accepted and sanctioned violence.

The Romans perhaps understood this perhaps better than any other culture before or since. The Gladiators were as much a political tool as they were pure entertainment.

Of course men fighting to the death today is unacceptable but Boxing and the UFC satisfy modern day violence voyeurs. Plus there is still bare knuckle boxing for the more hardcore.

I love a violent game as much as the next gamer but that does not then lead me to want to hurt real people. It's my belief that for any peaceful society to function a little violence (digital or combat sport) should be permitted in order to prevent far more deadly violence from arising. If its one thing that we earthlings hate its suppression of our base instincts.

video gaming really should be a sport because some people are very, VERY good at em...

reminds me of watching mothafuckas playing street fighter II back in the day, doing all kinds of shit...

dudes that could twirl that stick 360 degrees so fast and do Zangief's spinning pile driver were like Gods

    You know I ain't lyin' man. :smt070

For real, mufuckas are on beast mode with Zangief. Especially since he's slow and has no projectile attacks. If you catch them 2 or three times, depending on how you chain his throws, it's game over.

Wish I woulda stuck with Tekken. I could see myself being on some competitive shit if I kept fuckin' with it like when I was younger.

no doubt..i HATED when a mothafucka would interrupt my 1player mode and challenge me to a fight

i lost more than I won..but when I did WIN against random guys in the arcade...i felt like a boss

even if I went noob-mode with Ryu and spammed the screen with hadokens
