From a cnn report, stated a young woman 28 weeks pregnant with twins reported to a catholic hospital with vomitting and shortness of breath died of cardiac arrest in the emergency room which her husband filed a wrongful death law suit on behalf of his wife and unborn fetus, the catholic church states that life begins at conception, lawyers for the catholic Hopsital argue that a fetus is not a person until born and won the husband lost that case under the state of Colorado law an embryo is not a person until born alive....:smt018WHAT KIND OF LAW IS THAT!!A embyro, eats and grows inside another living human being that is considered alive and a living being,in the case of a homocide in that state that killer would get away with 1 murder instead of 3 somethings wrong here, in this case this the husband was counter sued by the doctors this was bad and this case is going to the state supreme court and hope this law is addressed and reversed.
Let's see...which has more viability? A group of men in dresses advocating life so it can die if living under impoverish conditions, or a group of doctors who understand the biology of the reproductive cycle? I'll take the ones that are scientifically proven. And actually, it is true that life begins once outside the womb. Inside though, we're all just parasites slowly developing into humans and can potentially cause harm to the host if complications rise. Leave the decisions up to the women and their doctors and their own moral conscience on these conditions.
If someone/something is alive, and if someones negligence or purposeful actions caused the ceasing of that life, the someone in question is guilty and should be held responsible.
Many doctors believe life technically begins at birth, even I don't go that far. Giving women abortions in their 7-9 month of pregnancy by practice is unconscionable except in worst case situations. I still can't believe the lawyers for a Catholic church argued before a judge that life begins AT BIRTH. However catholics are ready to protest because the President wants health insurance offered by catholic hospitals and universities to include birth control(!!). If a woman 7 months pregnant with twins is having complications with difficulty breathing and she's forced to wait more than 3-5 minutes in a waiting room, the hospital is negligent. I feel for the husband, but he should have called 911 and had an ambulance take his wife directly to ER. He never should have taken her on his own to the hospital and gone through all that sign-in red tape in the waiting room.
Well.. is a caterpillar a moth or a tadpole a frog? Pretty far off examples but the concept somewhat applies. I'm not trying to say I don't think an unborn child is not a person but at the same time:smt102
I'm sure there's a lot more to this story, so it's kind of hard to judge. But regardless of my own opinions, I would have thought that Catholics would have argued that life begins at conception. Seems odd.
A fetus is just a clump of cells and life can't under normal circumstance support itself out of the womb before 36 weeks. In the most dire circumstance the sustaining of that life is both tenuous and expensive. It might be a human (or more humanish anyway) but before it doesn't need either a placenta to breathe and filter it's blood and clean its waste, it is in a loose sense of the word, a parasite. It is dependent on another life form to sustain its own life.
I think the anti-abortion crowd should focus on helping women avoid unwanted pregnancies, rather than going after their right to safe abortions.
Yes. But these people are too overzealous to see how terrible they are invading the personal lives of others.
Sin, they do, that's the whole thing. When it comes to a woman's right to choose in the US, they steadfastly adhere to the idea that life begins at conception. They only changed it when it was convenient for them. TBH, I have no patience for this crap. You don't want an abortion? Don't have one, but don't presume to tell me that I can't have one if I want one. Why would you force someone to have a baby that doesn't want one? Does that make one iota of sense?
I'm not saying its a parasite in actuality. The anti-abortion side focuses far too much energy on what it will eventually become as opposed to what it is before it actually develops into something else. But most don't support the idea of evolution anyway.
