I've played a plethora of video games in my lifetime, ranging from shooters, platformers, western and japanese style role-playing, survival horror, psychological horror, puzzles, action beat'em ups, and all that jazz... ....and I came out just fine. Video games are just a scapegoat for the bigger issue involved.
Every year Call of Duty games sell about 7 million copies. And the people who play those games, play them 4-7 hours a day for months. They are exposed to countless virtual deaths and violence. So if the games themselves caused real world violence, then we would be hearing about mass shootings every other day. Now, is it possible that some poor soul is overly stimulated by game violence? Yes it is possible. But a mentally disturbed person is as likely to be stimulated by other things, like religious fervor, or the sound of a particular piece of music. It is impossible to regulate everything in the world that might set a disturbed person off. But what you can regulate is, the means people have to hurt others, when they snap. The Access to REAL GUNS is the begging and ending to this discussion, IMHO.
video gaming is definitely the cliche scapegoat year in and year out some people would honestly rather ban games before banning firearms that's how this shit has become to think that people would go on mass killing sprees because of their video gaming habits, does not give people any credit at all when it comes to distinguishing fiction from reality people should be upset over such insults
those dummy's never want to think for a minute that there was something wrong with so and so before he or she started playing video games
Withdrawal from society and lack of social interactions can create a crazy person who's so deluded into thinking that people can respawn after a shot to the head. That...and jumping on tortoises.
He is speaking of what I mentioned in the title. Lol. Is a long podcast but in essence he is saying its lack of correct context, supervision and socialization that is the issue. Go take a listen.
