We all are acquainted, know and, in some instances, are related to a lesbian, gay, bisexual, maybe transgendered person. At the end of the day, they are human. Nothing can change that.

    love them bits

but anyway, you gotta understand that a lesbian isn't a homosexual man and the way straight men and women relate to lesbians vs the way they relate to gay guys is different. (The starkest example being lesbian porn, which many straight guys like.)

...So you and your female friend is a totally different dynamic than a gay guy "coming out" to his male "homies".

Not only that, but I think many, many more women than men would opine that getting a "mani" & "pedi" isn't gay for a dude. (most straight men wouldn't even use the words "mani" & "pedi")

It's strange for a man to do such feminine things. How many of you women wouldn't look sideways if your new dude was like "Well, I'm off to get my weekly mani & pedi, and have my bikini line done"?

It's "gender bending" for sure. It may not mean you're gay but it means something, especially in combo with being a pretty boy who slept with a man...

I saw then live in concert! :p Ok well not really, they performed at a shopping center and I was front row dancing my 10 yr old ass off. Had no clue back then they repped gay, let alone were, and I don't think Shopping Town management knew it either :smt081

And wow I just realized, too...my school girl crush was always on the navy guy followed by the cute Indian. Ha, this love for BM runs deep! :smt050

He is straight. He identified as straight, has sex with women. He had sex with a guy once. A lot of people experiment. I tried sex with a woman. Ruined a perfectly good fantasy for me. I just plain didnt like it. I'm straight - I am not attracted to women and I don't sleep with them.

I had a girlfriend from asia once who was surprised when I told about the Village People's gay subtext. She was sure I was pulling her leg...

I'm confused. Why would it change the dynamic of the relationship? I have gay friends, lesbian friends, straight friends, and bi-friends. I get way more hassle for sex from men thank have ever from lesbian friends. They want to sleep with other lesbians, not a straight woman. Likewise gay men prefer to sleep with men who actually want them, I.e., gay men.

Lemme tell you, most of your celebrity duded? They get manis and pedis. Many well groomed straight men do, especially in more cosmopolitan cities. Also, there is a huge industry in waxing men, and they are by no means all gay.

As a female, you relate differently to those groups (and the world for that matter) than a straight man, in many, many complex and subtle ways...

Bottom line truth is - gay men don't want to sleep with you. And even if they did, welcome to the world, do you know how many times women have male 'friends' who are really just trying to get into our pants? if I had a dollar for every guy I didn't want who made a pass at me, I could live in the south of France, and so could every other woman on this board. You just say no politely, and let it go and move on.

okay, maybe that's beyond the realm of my experience. But I don't know a single guy who gets or has ever gotten a manicure, let alone a pedicure. I did once see a hand-written sign on the door of a pedicure shop saying "women only".

I don't think I'm the only one who sees getting manis and pedis as "out of character" for straight males...

Then you need to adjust your view. Seriously, keeping your nails near isnt the same thing as having fancy nail tips attached! For a lot of women, including me, hands are one of the first thing we look at in a man. Raggedy cuticles are chewed nails are a big turn off.

I was like that about Johnny Mathis. But especially Luther. And that he was into White teen boys. Shocked me for real.

Really? Luther? Didn't know that... Didn't even know he was gay until people started saying he was.

I have nice hands. :smt023 Keep 'em neat & clean. But shiny and buffed and manicured? For green money? hell to the no

Most guys don't even do the neat and clean part, let alone manicured.

Cocoa-butter works beautifully! Always did the trick for my guys and that's what they used. Just some lotion and clipped their own nails. Most men see going to a a nail salon a waste of time and money. I find in general they don't like to fuss...pretty much 1, 2, 3 - done, when it comes to their grooming routine.

The Village People. Man, those guys can really sing. I listen to YMCA, Macho Man, In The Navy, Go West and I would not have suspected a thing. For me, it was about the music not the subtext.

Yeah, and sadly his young lover...who was a twin, Luther killed him in a tragic car accident. I was told that he never got over the guilt and the loss...

Hell yeah, that voice on the lead singer! Loved it! More-so the original front man. Better of the 2 voices.

If he is no more curious about other men and strictly feels attracted to women now then he's just straight.

Manicure does not define one's sexual orientation.
Some people just really like taking care of themselves.
