This is where being indigenuous comes in. Are you telling me that 94% of American citizens make rape jokes? Are you part of the 94% or the 6%? Men making comments about body parts of women means it is a rape culture? Are you kidding me? Are you aware women also make comments on body parts? Check out the Ladies locker room. Are you aware women too can take advantage of a drunken man and sleep with him? When a man asks what were you wearing means he wants to rape you? Do you know what men say about women when we are on a boys night out in a bar and drunk? Are the guys who go to strip clubs potential rapists because they objectify the girls there? A culture is something that is an accepted norm and is practiced by the majority of people. MOST MEN WOULD NOT RAPE BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY WOULD BE IN DEEP SHIT. For you to create the impression that there is a rape culture means American men buy into having sex without a woman's consent and it's simply NOT true. Rape culture my ass go and live in India for a while and come and talk to me about rape culture in America.

And the understanding needs to extend out so he understands that shit like she should have known better than to go to a frat party is both distinctly unhelpful, and part of the rape culture. The problem is never what the woman did or did not do, it's that she was in the presence of a rapist. Period. If you say otherwise, you are implying that men are some sort of ravening beasts, just waiting for a woman to wear a skirt too short or go to the wrong party, and then descend on her in some sort of semi-righteous rape. Men are NOT incapable of controlling themselves, even if the woman is drunk, naked and had willing sex with six other guys that night.

There is a difference between guys in the locker room taking about tits, and guys riding down the street calling out 'Hey bitch, nice tits, come suck my dick.' When the 94% of non rapist guys laugh at rape jokes, it normalizes rape. It's not a joke. My reference to what was she wearing meant that's one of the first questions asked about a rape victim, as though her wardrobe turned an otherwise law abiding guy into a beast who just couldn't stop himself from raping her. There is a huge difference between thinking 'nice tits' and screaming it at a woman. Really, she is minding her own business and she is supposed to be complimented that you Interrupted her thoughts to give her your opinion, a total stranger, on her body? Go read the piece I posted in a separate thread about whether you like us thinking about men that way.

what the women are basically saying is the following (correct me if Im wrong ladies) :

    1) women are viewed as a piece of meat and property anyway
    2) because they are the physically weaker sex they are more vulnerable for attacks
    3) when they get raped 99% of time they are asked or its inferred how did they put themselves in this position
    4) she must have been asking for it.

just like being a black man (when the news come up saying there was a store robbery every assumes its a black guy until the photo pops up to verify or he wears a hoodie he must be up to no good...trayvon martin)

the worst of it all a woman have to live with that shit in her mind...being raped.

Most men wouldnt give two hoots if some random woman shouts nice ass or nice pecs or nice arms and i can assure you we wont be thinking hmm that is a rapist. Saying 94% of people laugh at rape jokes is an indictment of the American populace. Most Americans would find rape jokes disgusting and would also frown upon men who say hey bitch suck my dick. Somehow you seem to think the things you are harping on are the norm instead of the exception. I am outraged anytime i hear a female teacher slept with an underage student and gets a slap on the wrist and it is quite rampant but does that mean there is a rape culture? Hell no.

Its funny how you gloss over the fact that we have female rapists as well especially teachers who hardly express remorse when caught. Are we to assume every female teacher is a potential rapist?

No one has ever said only men can be rapists. Females can also have rotten ideas about rape and as I stated before, women are also a part of the 'rape culture'.

The rape culture is NON EXISTENT and the example of Sandusky is the exception NOT the rule. Thats what TDK has been saying over and over again but somehow there is the notion most people in America are cool with rape issues which is simply not true. And i stressed the women rapist part to Pixie because most feminists gloss over stuff like that or try to find an excuse.

You are completely missing what actually has been said in here, your post clearly show that. Both you and TDK are completely disconnected regarding this subject and it is really sad. Its like you take personal offense for something that has nothing to do with you personally, why do you defend people that do really wrong things? As both of you like to bring up in other discussions.. Some, not all, nobody is chastazing all men here

I give up, you two are so deeply emerged on men vs women (i know tdk will continue to deny thix, but that is how he often comes across, as do you) he and you always make it an issue to always have minimalizing comments on any and all women issues. If any woman say anything about black men issues there is hell to pay, but yet, both of you think its fine to do this in women issues. Severe double standards

The number of women who rape men compared to men who rape women is so miniscule that it's totally irrelevant. Why would someone even attempt to make a comparison like there's some equivalence??

Rape is a MAN problem, not an issue about predatory women.
I think in most male dominated institutions, you will find that they have a totally different attitude, even if it's unspoken, about what is considered sexually appropriate behavior regarding women.

THe point isn't that every man will rape, living in a rape tolerant culture means those who hear about a woman being raped either don't care or are totally ambivalent about it.

Give the man a peach! This isn't rocket science. I don't know why they aren't getting it. They have an inherently adversarial position when it comes to understanding anything about what it's like to be a woman in this society.

Guys who 'get it' get more pussy, in or out of relationships, because essentially, they like women as people. Just sayin'

FG go fuck yourself you ladies often do this men vs women bullshit. Men need to be educated on rape? Are you fuckin kidding me? It goes from the respinsibility of some criminaps to every man having to take on the responsibility of rape. Whether you do it or not you are lumped in with every asshole who is disrespectful.

Fucking clueless and ignorant. How fucking dare you presume to tell the women who live in the united states if there is a rape culture or not? How dare you.
