At the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills Jan. 13, co-host Tina Fey jokingly told nominee Taylor Swift to steer clear of Michael J. Fox's son, Sam, who was serving as this year's Mr. Golden Globe. Though the bit elicited big laughs from the audience, the Spin City star shares Fey's sentiments.

New York Magazine's Vulture caught up with Michael, 51, at a book party for Ann Leary's The Good House Jan. 16. "I don't keep up with it at all," the Back to the Future actor admitted. "Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career."

Hell, I just figured out who she was not that long ago, lol. I didn't know she wrote songs about her exes. Sounds like MJ Fox is practicing that lost art: parenting. :smt038

 

Heck, she is not the inventor of writing songs about x'es. Its done all the time and I can list dozens that do exactly what Taylor swift is doing, the difference is that she serial date very publicly. So like mjf said about 'what a way to make a career' is stupid, that has made a gazillion pop star careers.

The issue is really not that she writes about her failed romances, its that she serial date.very publicly. She needs to stop both.

On a side note, miley Cyrus that have been w the same guy for three years gets called a slut because her dress style, but Taylor swift is called a sweetheart even though she runs through men, because she dresses demure. Funny how that works.

 

It's the "country mentality". Swift is seen as a country star which for some reason is seen as "wholesome" and "All-American" even though many of the artist themselves don't live lifestyles that could be viewed as "wholesome". Cyrus because of her dad being seen as a country star and she going the pop route rather than following in daddy's shoes, may play some part in that bit of double standard treatment IMO.

Hmm. Just curious but being that you're more international than I am, is country music viewed as more wholesome in other countries? I can see how it would be seen as "All-American" music in other countries since it more or less originated here, but classical and opera were around long before country and could be seen as more wholesome and in some regards a more legit form of music.

The basic reason for the scewed views of Taylors swift vs smiley cyrrus is in how they dress. This phenomenon is old and well known.That is very international. It is exaserated with the 'country' view etc. Sure that is american, but that is not they main cause, its simply an addition

2. HATE her music and Kanye was right, Beyoncé's video was better.

3. Could care less who she is with, but agree her songs are annoying. But I fault no celebrity about making money as it is fans that support them and how people spend their money is their choice. Obviously a lot of people love trash the ex music
