I did not say you should leave the country. I jokingly asked Tarshi to let you come stay with her because mabe you will like that better, after all you are the one complaining and sounds like she is happy with the environment that you claim you want. Being stabbed to death is so much better than being shot right? :smt102 As for the bolded part of you statement above

So what premise was the civil rights movement based on if not to allow constitutional rights to black people?

I had this fucked up dream this morning involving myself dressed as a cowboy and there was this cowgirl outlaw that wanted to have a shooting contest with me. Well, I agreed to it, and we went out into the streets. Well, the 2nd Amendment, written in blood was attached to the sky somehow.

Anyway, I was about to draw my gun, until she dropped her pants. She had the prettiest little vagina I've ever seen in my life. Not only it had pussy cheeks, but they were red enough to make you melt in awe. Then...I saw a little baby hand creeping out the opening, holding a gun and proceeded to shoot me. I ran around the corner and then the cowgirl followed behind me. The baby's hand then dropped a little lower and then this botched head plopped out there, looking like something from Aliens.

I ran to another corner and then saw this alien gun and it stabbed me in my wrist, causing it to be synchronized. I switched it to Abort and then fired at the gun-wielding fetus and it shriveled up and the cowgirl exploded. Then I woke up.

    The End.

This really is potato vs potato.

Somethings just have to include common sense.

Most obviously, the founding fathers wouldn't think that it would be the new formed government making the rules.

    Like DUH and stuff.

They were dealing with a tryrannical government based in ENGLAND...the place that the pilgrams escaped from..
to have more freedom in their government.

In our 200ish years as a country with our own governing body, how many times has any civilian (or a group of them) needed to bring down the whole entire govenment because of tyranny?

And tell me again, You, bliss, beasty and WHAT army is going to stand up against the most powerful military in the world with your semi automatics and your two glocks and whatever else you bring to the overthrow the party?

Good luck with ALL of that.

How about slavery? Cant think of any greater tyranny than to be considered 3/5 of person by the country you live. Its also not about overthrowing anything its about having the powwr to fight back even ob a small scale. But hopefully youre complwte and utter blind faith in goverment agents with guns will always protect you and keep ypu safe.

    WTF TDK??

This 'quote' from TJ is bogus too.
You're in no position to check anyone in this discussion because you're posting some straight up garbage from Thomas Jefferson that HE NEVER SAID.

You're calling me 'full of shit'?? A chump?? 'Unsupported facts and shitty logic'??:toimonster:

For real dude, if you post TWO bogus quotes from the author of the Declaration of Independence, you really aren't qualified to be participating in this convo.:smt019

Bliss and Beasty keep patting you on the back and you don't have enough common sense to recognize when the sources you are citing are bullshit.:smt011

You may have issues with GL style, but his facts are on point.
You've backed up much of your posts in this thread around these two phoney TJ quotations.

How many times do you get to discredit yourself before you aren't taken seriously about the framers of the Constitution position on gun rights??

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Really, you owe GL an apology.:smt048

Its the same quote you pointed out that I conceded to smart guy. Post 403
Try to keep up, you are making a fool of yourself.
You are so desperate to make a point you just keep shooting yourself in the foot. Its ok little buddy, I think its time for a nap.:D

I am honestly surprised by you. You usually show greater intelligence in these threads, but on this topic you and Goodlove are on the same level and that really doesn't speak well of you. Brighten up baby boy.

AndreBoba, TDK did NOT say the quote twice -- you tried to call him on it twice, once in your post #402 and again tonight in post #511......is what happened. If you did this on purpose, then I think you owe TDK an apology for trying to make it seem like he said two different incorrect quotes.

If you did it because you are mentally fatigued by your gun-grabbing, then you should concede your error like TDK was man enough to. :smt069

ps: you still didn't answer TDK and show proof the NRA said it. :yawinkle:

Frankly, I think AB and GL need to calm down, take a chill pill and re-examine their stance.

BTW, here is a very similar quote to the one people are saying Jefferson never said. So in effect, he is saying...to keep your liberty one must watch out for tyranny. Damn.

"What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms."

-(Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, Dec. 20, 1787, in Papers of Jefferson, ed. Boyd et al.)

Stated that one already and have yet to here a rebuttal from Boba. Dude just wants to believe he's right despite facts to the contrary.

"The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them. And yet, though this truth would seem so clear, and the importance of a well regulated militia would seem so undeniable, it cannot be disguised, that among the American people there is a growing indifference to any system of militia discipline, and a strong disposition, from a sense of its burthens, to be rid of all regulations. How it is practicable to keep the people duly armed without some organization, it is difficult to see. There is certainly no small danger, that indifference may lead to disgust, and disgust to contempt; and thus gradually undermine all the protection intended by this clause of our national bill of rights."
(Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States; With a Preliminary Review of the Constitutional History of the Colonies and States before the Adoption of the Constitution [Boston, 1833])

(take note AB and GL ^^^)

"You are bound to meet misfortune if you are unarmed because, among other reasons, people despise you....There is simply no comparison between a man who is armed and one who is not. It is unreasonable to expect that an armed man should obey one who is unarmed, or that an unarmed man should remain safe and secure when his servants are armed. In the latter case, there will be suspicion on the one hand and contempt on the other, making cooperation impossible."
    (Niccolo Machiavelli in "The Prince")

Of all the things that actually prove unsafe (hmm guns come to mind) is it really necessary to live my life in fear of things that most likely won't ever hurt me?

    If that's your thing though..
    Have fun being paranoid.
