I think before that question can really be answered, we have to know when it happened. Then you can figure out why by what was going on at the time.
Yeah, there was a reason. Check out the what's going on with you thread. I arrived back here yesterday
Indeed. And one the points is the seeming "Meh, Whatever" attitude of a lot of the younger generation of Black folks coming up have. A lot of shit that even when I was a kid growing that you saw and knew was fucked & needed to be corrected Black folks tried to correct. Now the attitude when something is fucked pops up is "Meh. Whatever. It is what it is." And everyone just continues on like nothing. WTF???? FIX THE SHIT THAT'S FUCKED.:smt101
As long as there is money to be made these tv execs, who are mostly white, dont give a shit. Young black men already lack role models and some teenager would see this and think its a badge of honour to spread his seed. Tragic!
If the show wasn't meant to stereotype, it would be called 'The More, The Merrier' or some corny shit like that. 'Baby Mama' just spells foolishness. Bitch done lost her mind.
The Golden Age of TV has been jumping this shark for far too long. But, I'd wager that nowadays it shows that you can make a person a star by letting them get in front of the cameras and act an ass. And yet, it spells opportunity. If you want to make a $90,000 on the first year easily just by doing reality TV, you can do that.
im sure this show would have been a hit because there would be people watching it...blacks Im talking about
Which is why we need our own reality TV show. This whole forum oozes with personality and people here are just itching to make a little extra dough. I wouldn't mind it personally.
you think outside the box, i like that. yep, it sure does. its not glamorous or high integrity and the pay is determined by your hustle. remember that cat from LA that went to NYC and got blown away in broad daylight... if your about that life you really got to be about that life. my whole point isn't surrounded by shorty low or however you spell it, its the image he is portraying as a bm d-boy turned rapper and makes money while doing what he is supposed to do as a man which is take care of his kids no matter how many he has with how many ever women... he is doing it against all odds and i hope living life on the right and narrow path now that he has fame and fortune. sure show casing this isnt the BEST example, but for most bm growing up in the trap who else, what else can you relate to? im glad vick got caught when i think about it positively... he showed you can be a qb of a football team and fall back into your old ways. where does it get you? right back to where you are trying to avoid.
I don't think it's that much outside of the box. I mean it's saturated now, that everyone's doing Reality TV on just about anything. Pretty soon, we may have ideas on a reality TV show on text messaging stories.
Yeah now he feeds his kids by exploiting the fucked up situation he put them in. The guy is not the worst of them but still a common low life indeed.
I personally think people who are addicted to useless reality shows are slightly retarded and have too much time on their hands.
Yeah I remember that story about him getting gunned down in broad daylight in the middle of Manhattan. Having grown up in the hood, having younger cousins, I see how they are easily influenced by the images in the media. All the girls could recite all the lyrics from a Nicki Minaj album. One of them talking about he don't want good grades, because his friends will laugh at him. A friend of my mother had her young 10 year old son steal his mother's money and used it to buy expensive clothing, including a $200 jeans. I couldn't believe it when I heard that shit. He got suspended from school for hitting another student over the head. Kid is out of control and utterly disrespectful to the max. Its just a pattern I see with young kids who are so easily influenced by the shit they see. If they don't have a parent who is on the grind about keeping them focused on the right things, its easy to go astray with the outside influences that glorify negative behaviors as a becoming trait to have as a young black person.
