http://health.yahoo.net/experts/dayinhealth/six-pack-abs-12-weeks If a leaner, more chiseled body is one of your New Year’s goals, here’s an amazingly inspiring success story: Joe Warner went from chunky to hunky—including 6-pack abs—in just 12 weeks. Thanks to smarter workouts and a much healthier diet, he’s reportedly gained 22 pounds of muscle—and shed about 17.5 pounds of fat, with nearly all of the loss around the belly. Making this makeover even more remarkable, the Men’s Fitness deputy editor is an average Joe with a desk job—and works out just four hours a week. “If I can do it, anyone can,” Warner told the Daily Mail. “The regime I followed proves that you don’t need to spend hour after hour exercising to dramatically transform the way you look, even in a relatively short period of time.” What are his body-building secrets—and would they work for other average guys? Is it really possible to pack on that much muscle in three months? To find out, I talked to Neal Pire, MA, CSCS, FACSM, and founder of PUSH at Volt Fitness in Glen Rock, NJ, who specializes in performance training for athletes. ============================================ read the article and to me what he did dont seem to mesh or they left out way too much. Im leaning to them leaving out too much. what you guys think of his workout routine
LOL I just saw this story on Yahoo and was about to post it here...in your OTHER Six pack thread... http://www.whitewomenblackmen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20307 I think he looks great! Wonderful improvement.
once you realize that everyone has abs covered by layers of fat, the rest becomes a matter of shredding that fat so that they're visible you really don't need to spend more than an hour every other day working out, if you do high-intensity workouts tailored to make your body work ridiculously hard for that short amount of time, followed by proper nutrition
from my experience, situps do help tighten the ab muscles..but id say the hard running for short periods in ur cardio will definitely target the fat
also nutrition, nutrition, nutrition u dont want to eat to the point ur getting belly bulge if ur going for that lean, sleek look, do the small meal routine and eat when ur hungry..not for the hell of it i didnt read the article, but im sure some of this has been mentioned it's like a staple for looking like that
My doctor suggested swimming because it is a great all over the body workout. I have also been looking into juicing. I had heard and read about it being good, also
The saying goes. Abs are not made in the gym, they are made in the kitchen.... And it is true. The vast majority of getting a six pack comes down to diet. Period.
Good point FG Couple of interesting videos, they claim these results just from calisthenics [HDYT]c5APvEfUPPk[/HDYT] [HDYT]hFBBuWcTmcg[/HDYT] http://www.youtube.com/user/calisthenicskingz?feature=watch
Sprints if you want to burn that visceral fat that lies between your organs. Anaerobic activity will help you burn fat too so don't neglect it.
