Well every spree killer and gang banger played with toy guns and video games... wait so do millions of other kids who have never harmed a soul. Its ridiculous reasoning. And again if they are soooo concerned about the welfare of kids how about we tackle childhood poverty in this country. One out of eight kids don't know where their next meal is coming from. So instead of lecturing about gun control take 5 bucks out of every paycheck and buying either two cans of soup or a box of oatmeal and bring it to your local food bank. You'll help save way more kids from harm that way that frickin gun control.

I don't know 100% about childhood poverty in this country. It must be well hidden because I see a lot of chubby overfed kids. Even our homeless appear to be well-fed. (nourishment is another story). I'm not doubting you, I am just under-informed because 20 years ago I'd agree without question..It's an interesting topic to discuss, but Ive digressed...

Per your overall point - do you know how many little kids died from abuse from adults this week? And it wasn't by a gun. For some reason, the gun-grabbers have latched onto this crusade that they didn't give two fucks about before SandyHook. Now it's "Repealing the 2nd Amendment!"

Why not repeal the 21st Amendment and ban booze. There were over 2000 deaths related to drunk driving JUST with teens aged 15-20. There were almost 5000 directly booze-related deaths for the same age group resulting from binge drinking/alcohol poisoning and booze induced suicide. Did they rally behind those causes? Negative.

I only know about this because my gf is involved in a lot of these save humanity causes and I've always taken an interest in feeding the poor. The major problem with those of us who live in more urban areas is that we are trained to ignore people because there are just so many that it's easier to live in your own little world and the things that jump out at us are things covered by the media all the time like obesity. So seeing little fat kids just jumps out at us so much that the skinny ones almost look healthy in comparison. You look at more rural areas in the south and midwest its fucking heart breaking. Most of us eat twice more than we need and give little to no thought about those who only eat half of what they need. But that isn't the topic at hand.
I agree with you on the booze thing as well. I've been saying it through this entire thread, if they are so concerned about the safety of the public then post the names of everyone who gets a speeding ticket because that kind of behavior causes far more deaths than firearms. But its not about public safety its about the personal fear of those who now understand what people like you and I have known for years. Safety is an illusion, place all the regulations you want but unfortunately there will always be those either snap and/or prey on the weak. And I for one would rather have a fighting chance than to believe putting all power in the "authorities" will keep me safe.
