i would say that a man's stock drops.....

    1) after he stops takin' care of his "appearance" (let's go of himself)
    2) when he feels the need to not show his lady any respect
    3) when he doesn't make an effort to go after his goals, dreams, & aspirations

Yeah it happens, although it's rare. I'm sure you've seen women who were in their 40s who looked like they weren't even 30 before? It's rare but it happens. I agree with bodhesatva, men can stretch it even farther if they work out a lot.

Now ladies answer me this can a man's stock rise with you after it has dropped?
    Do second chances really exist?

Yeah, exactly. I wasn't suggesting it's common or anything.

Here, I'll put it this way instead: I think men are better at staving off the effects of age than women are thanks to bodybuilding/lifting weight/working out. Women can lift weights too, but most guys aren't in to super buff girls, in my experience. I don't think that's so crazy.

Oh, absolutely. If you've let yourself go and lost your job, then pick yourself back up, get a job and start working out again, I might find that even more sexy, to be honest.

A guy who can take care of himself / keep a job is sexy. A guy who can pick himself up after falling down is even sexier. Guys who have known pain and failure and beaten it are going to appeal to a lot of women.

    Good points....

And to elaborate, take John Mayer for example.

Sure, hes a decent looking, very talented dude. And he may or may not have game and know how to verbally deal with women. But the underlying aspect to why hes racked up a whos who list of famous women is because of his infamous rep and resume. Women want what other beautiful women have or want. And to a small percentage of immature and or insecure women, It validates their self worth.

Theres also something to be said for the challenge of being the one woman that finally domesticates that notorious man.

to the point of this thread then... prison doesn't lower a mans stock, it raises it. my opinion.

my stock will never drop, even with age or if i end up broke for whatever reason. how you value yourself all comes down to confidence and no matter what confidence will always keep your stock high.

Please explain this opinion in bold.

For me, a man's stock drops to zero if he treats me, my daughter, and animals like crap.

    If he's controlling.

If he lets himself go (I hate, hate, hate beer guts on men. It disgusts me).

    If he's too needy.

    If he's a committment-phobe.

If he has a record. No thanks. I have a daughter to protect and if someone has a record, that's someone I don't want near my daughter. That being said, I know that mistakes happen, and if it's truly something unique (and not bad), then I'll consider deviating from it, but for the most part, no thanks.

    I'm sure there's more....

I agree with you. Too bad that some men can hide some of these things very well for a while...

Women in general also love fashion, and I bet that has a lot to do with the "type" of man they accept at any given point.

Not too long ago a survey found that women liked guys with facial scars.

This was back in the 90s at the height of the tattoo craze, when everyone was learning martial arts etc. Seemed the whole society was going through a phase of "tough guy" worship. Bet if you were to survey those same women now, they would want something different. :smt003

It raises it because most men who go to prison end up going back and not changing their ways. Those men or women who get out and do not fall into the norm category can be considered as standing out from the rest and being different there fore raising their stock.

Are you saying that if a guy went to prison for a white collar crime, got out, obtained an amazing 6 figure job while being father of the year to his kids... you wouldn't want him around your kids?
