Goku would destroy Superman. Goku may not be the smartest guy in the world, but he is an expert in fighting, not only that but Goku has his SSJ 3 and SSJ4 forms if he ever has trouble.

Personally if he's going to do anything involving DC's supernatural heroes, I'd prefer if he did either a solo Swamp Thing update/reboot or a solo Demon movie. His style would work for either of those two characters.

Still missing the overall point I'm trying to get at. No characters in either the DC or Marvel universes have the same potential to destroy planets in the same manner as the ones in the Dragonball universe. Even the cosmic & god level characters never go out of their way to destroy planets under their own power like those guys seem to casually do. If they do destroy planets they usually use some sort of tech or artifact, especially to amplify their own energy powers if they use it to destroy a planet. And there is no guarantee that any of the superpowered characters from the Marvel or DC side could/would be able to deflect such an energy attack if it were used considering many of the superpowered enemies who go against Goku always seem to inititially have the upper hand in the fights and then end up getting whacked with one those ever evolving chi powered attacks.

It doesn't matter if one side is capable of destroying planets and others can't. There's still a good and equal probability that they can still fight them on a relatively good scale.

How? If two superheroes end up fighting each other it is usually because each hero has been lead to think the other is some how involved with something bad, so each will come out swinging to take the other down. Especially if both realize or are aware that the other is as or more powerful than themselves. Also keep in mind that chi energy is also usually linked to mystical powers usage and considering how powerful Goku and others are in the DB universe, magical attacks would be the closest thing their powers would probably be identified as in both the Marvel & DC universes. So all the physically powerful heroes such as Superman and the Hulk have a vunlerability/sensitivity to magic and again no guarantee of countering any chi powered attacks if they indeed have the same effect as a magic attack.

Hmmm, okay...it's a quaint assessment. I suppose the debate before we jump into something else altogether is whether or not chi is a form of magic or are they mutually exclusive. Personally, I don't really see it as magic, or at least not in the same vein as how we commonly describe magic. I see energy as more of a force being exerted through the body, so essentially, I wouldn't call it "magic" in that regard. I'm sure there are some characters in the DC and Marvel universe who happen to use energy weapons or techniques as well...like say Iron Fist.

I have no problem with a spirited debate but like I said MS starts with the mudslinging when I don't agree with him. He's been able to go back and forth with Ra without any insults so I its not like he's incapable of being civil. So its simply that he disagrees with me, dude has a weird problem with me stemming from source that I don't even think he's really aware of.

That's weird. It's the first time I've used that word. You must be mistaking me for another black guy.

:smt030 I'm fully aware of the Dragonball universe, thank you very much. Perhaps remember a lot more than you think and followed the series from its beginnings all the way to the very end.

Yes. He is probably the closest hero who mimics how/what the DB universe characters display with their power usage. And if you pay very close attention to Iron Fist's history he is play up as a mystical martial arts character. All the elements involving K'un L'un are played on a mystical level.

And East Asian mysticism isn't really considered magic in the way we define it.

You've used it twice in this thread and other times with me.

I never said you didn't know your stuff. I suggested we use the cartoons for a baseline since there's about an equal amount of source material for both Goku and Superman through that medium. You said you wanted to include comics and when I gave you a comic source supporting that Superman is just as closely related to humans if not more than Goku you shrugged it off. I'm not looking for you to agree with me I just don't need the insults. It takes away from the dialogue. I'm not interested in mean spirited back and forths. Neither of us gain anything.

But in comics it is being a fantasy medium. Dr. Strange is also rooted in eastern mysticism by way of his origin under the Ancient One in Tibet. Deadman in DC is the same with his connection to Nanda Parbat also in Tibet.

Also in the cartoon Morgan LeFay describes magics as "energy". You bring up an interesting point. Never thought of the energy attacks as magic but they do seem to use conjuring spells before executing a lot of them for example "special beam cannon"

There are plenty of mystical elements to the Dragonball universe. They just mix in a lot of sci-fi /alien elements to play it down. The Dragonballs themselves have been referred to as mystical especially in the original Dragonball series. The whole summoning of the dragon and the wishes? If that isn't mystical in nature I don't know what qualifies?

Divinity. But then again any god-like entity in other universes would have to apply as well.

And pretty much all god-like entities both good or evil in nature in any universe are usually viewed or treated on the mystical level in most regards.

Then it's not far fetched to say all living creatures and things, which are embodied within these deities have some level of energy in them, thus...they all have "magic" dwelling inside.
