http://shine.yahoo.com/financially-fit/fitness-fads-waste-money-031200060.html Remember the Thighmaster, sauna suits, 8 Minute Abs? Some fitness fads, despite their promises, end up being total flops. And it's all a costly obsession. We spend nearly $30 billion a year on weight loss programs, alone. And now, with so many new trends emerging in the health space, we've got a breakdown of some plans that are worth it - and others you may want to skip.
I once bought Tony Little's Ab Isolator. I first looked at the workout video and did the warm ups before I sat down and used the thing. Nothing happened. I had found out that it only targets your upper abs and lower obliques. Nothing more. The waist reducing belts(the blue ones) did work to help you suck in the gut and help adjust your posture. But you had to wear it almost everyday. I am trying to get back into shape. My doctor recommends swimming because it is an all over the body workout. I will try that as well as tai chi , qi gong , yoga and spinning.
My sister-in-law does Tae Bo. Her cousin actually saw Billy Blanks doing a demonstration of one of his latest workouts. She told me that he had gotten fat. Hmmm...Something must've happened. He had since remarried and has a daughter with a Japanese woman(Tae Bo is a big seller in Japan). He was married to one of the girls in his earlier workout videos. She got sick and had to take medication that made her gain a lot of weight and other side effects.
Can't fully agree. It depends on what you are using them for. I think I heard that you shouldn't wear them for walking/running. http://www.livestrong.com/article/102304-bad-effects-ankle-weights/ I use them when I do certain leg exercises (like those for the adductor/abductor) and they do a great job in giving me that little extra challenge.
I dont know I think tae bo maybe the shit.....never used it but I believe it revolutionized exercise videos
I wouldn't say revolutionized; more like intensified exercise videos. Bill Blanks makes millions in Japan because the Japanese like the intensity and are motivated by it.
Fitness exercise goes hand in hand with eating right and discipline if you compromise any of that you wont reach your target.
