That made no sense. It would have been comparable if you said let everyone a car despite drunk driving and WE DO. Not everyone in possession of a car and alcohol is going to combine the two and do dumb shit. We some how trust people to own both despite the amount of drunk driving incidents there are. We acknowledge that although some may be irresponsible MOST people are law abiding and won't endanger their lives and the lives of others.

His sources are more up to date. I think we need a coroner's report.

I'm aware of the reports of a shotgun being pulled from the trunk. The footage I viewed showed an officer clearing the weapon using a side charging handle (which would be the wrong location for an AR type rifle.) Whether a shotgun was in the car or some other type weapon is beside the point. The NBC anchor clearly states that handguns and only hanguns were found inside the school. This was described as a "new detail" and the earlier reports were erroneous.

So I view the possibilities as follows-

NBC report is true, then no ar was used.

NBC is wrong. (And oddly, the other media outlets are strangely quiet about this major "lie" by a major network.)

One thing known for sure at this point is that the reporting of this shooting has been bad.

There have been numerous corrections and retractions since the incident.

No we don't. There are multiple reports that Lanza fired hundreds of rounds at Sandy Hook, nearly impossible to do with only the two handguns he had.

    http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/201...-in-connecticut-school-shooting-survived?lite

"Although he was carrying three weapons, he used only one of them in all of the school killings — a Bushmaster .223-caliber assault-style rifle similar to the one used by the snipers who terrorized the Washington, D.C., area in 2002. It was purchased legally, they said. He used one of the handguns to kill himself."

Updated at 7:19 p.m. ET: The 20 children and six adults killed in the Newtown school massacre were all shot multiple times, many with a rifle, Connecticut’s chief medical examiner said Saturday.

When in doubt, trust the NRA. Do you really think they would give a press conference about the Sandy Hook massacre and not make note of this distinction, if handguns were the primary source of the killings and not the AR15??

Then why would a internationally recognized news source say otherwise. Kind of odd don't you think?

I tend to take the word of the Connecticut State Police Lieutenant who held a press conference after the shootings as fact. He said those kids were mostly killed by an AR15 assault rifle.

BTW notice in the story link what kind of gun this lady had.

    A .38 revolver. 6 bullets total.
    Not a 9mm Beretta with a 30 clip mag.

Did you also notice that it took all 6 rounds to stop the one man even though he got hit in the face and neck, and he probably would have still been able to attack her had he realized that the gun was empty, the woman had to trick him by pretending that she had more rounds to shoot. Clearly you are selective in what you notice.

Guess what else Andreboba didn't notice? This story -

I see me in the first story scenario and him in this second one. :| Just sayin'

I read the link as I though most everyone else did. This guy left her apartment and got in his car even after she emptied 5 bullets into him. I believe he survived.

I dunno, but I think his case is unusual. You get shot that many times at that close range and nothing vital is hit?? You don't bleed to death??

Sorry, I still don't think this dude was in any position to pose a danger to this woman and her kids. He was gravely wounded. A frying pan probably would have finished him off.

Most people who get shot five times don't survive. If she had aimed center torso he would have died in her apartment.

Also if she had a bolt lock on her door, I'm assuming she didn't, this attack never would have happened.

I honestly think the 30 bullet clip is good incase you have multiple attackers. Which is probably when a semi-auto rifle comes in handy.

As long as you sit home and hope the cops get there in time you'll be alright lol

Tell that to 50 cent and Tupac (the time he survived)
Most people who get shot with handgunds survive. It is a common error for people to think of handguns as deathrays because of TV. Consider the laws of physics. People don't just fall down when they get shot. Rifles and shotguns exert much more powerful rounds. Very few handguns have real stopping power, they are just more convenient for the most part. Truth be told the AR is not all that powerful compared to many other rifles. Anyway.....So she had time to aim huh? Yeah OK......:smt012

    Most people....shot....FIVE TIMES....don't survive.

I doubt this woman was trained to shoot a handgun. She was at point blank range and still IMO had difficulty hitting her target in his torso.
Yeah a person trained to use a handgun should have had time to aim at her target, considering he was less than two feet away and apparently wasn't armed.

The AR15 seems to be powerful enough to wipe out two classrooms full of children and their teachers. But no it's not a stinger missile. Strictly lightweight stuff, that AR15 assault rifle.:smt108

You ever shoot anything under stress? Shes not a soldier. The gun gave her and her kids a fighting chance

I was refuting Beasty who suggested because the perp didn't die, it was because her .38 wasn't powerful, when in fact the reason IMO she didn't kill the intruder was because she wasn't skilled in using her firearm.

Having a gun and not really being knowledgeable about how to use it makes it less effective when you need it.

Bet if Beasty had a .38 and I broke into his crib and surprised him hiding in a closet, I would've caught 5-6 shots directly in the chest and died where I stood.
People who have guns need to be trained how to use those guns. A bigger gun doesn't make you safer.

How do you know she wasnt trained!

I said I doubted she was trained. She definitely wasn't skilled at shooting that .38 because she more or less missed the biggest target area.
