    Not technically funk, but the Philly Soul sound. It was very distinctive. Often imitated. It came before disco. And it was great. I love The O'Jays.

    R.I.P Otis "Damon" Harris

    He died on Monday after losing a 14-year-long battle to prostate cancer. Harris was 62.

    Gorath,had you checked out this radio show in my area called The Funk Show. It is on WNCU in Durham. The DJ is a P.H.D. of Funk Music.
