They can't tell any good character driven stories anymore because every writer working in comics currently each have their own vision of what they think the characters are rather than staying true to what they were established as when they were created, thus they have to rely on all the shocks to keep the readers they do have interested in the books. It's sad when the cartoons are more faithful to the comic characters, and in some instances better, than the actual comics themselves.
Stan Lee Turns 90! We should all hope to live as long, and accomplish as much as him. All his Marvel movie cameos
I used to read a series of books called The Seventh Carrier series. It is about a Japanese WW2 carrier that was supposed to join the carrier fleet to attack Pearl Harbor, but are trapped in an iceberg for forty years. When they are freed, they attack Pearl Harbor again, but learn that Japan had lost the war and things have changed. The entire crew were all descendants of samurai and they spent forty years perfecting their skills(especially the pilots; most of whom were in their teens when they joined). In other books, the Yonaga , a Yamato class warship is the only weapon on earth because of a Chinese Star Wars weaponized satellite(one that fires lasers at any rocket or jet propelled object anywhere in the world has brought the world back decades and the scramble to purchase, find and build aircraft and ships from WW2 becomes a high priority because of terrorism from the Middle East. These books were published in the mid 1980's and were written by Richard Albano.
Great video. My vote is Goku all the way even though the video made a good point showing how Superman would give him a serious run for his money.
Superman would out smart Goku, because Goku only knows how to fight straight on. He wouldn't know how to defend against any indirect attacks or tactics.
Your right Goku is a fighting genius, I would even say that he is addicted to fighting. And that is why he would lose. He would be enjoying the fight too much and he would pass up opportunities to finish it too quickly. Superman on the other hand is always trying to finish fights as quickly as possible. and he has fought guys stronger then himself before, so he is used to thinking 'out side the box' were as Goku's only strategy is to punch harder.
Nice battle, but Goku would win. Goku is just toying around with Superman. He could end the fight whenever he wanted by turning SSJ3 or using his instant transmission technique to teleport Superman near kryptonite.
This isn't the final video, since it's been delayed. But it's been getting plenty of attention in the ScrewAttack community and I'm honestly anticipating it myself. As to whether who'd win? I really don't know to be honest. Both are very similar to one another, except Superman is clearly more intelligent than Goku, academics wise, but as far as power is concern, it's really hard to determine. Perhaps if Goku and Superman were to fight closer to the sun, then Superman would win easily since the sun provides the source of his strength. However, Goku does have more fighting experience and can dodge pretty much anything in his wake, especially when giving the chance to go into his full power. Goku would have some significant advantage if he used magic instead of his chi/energy. But as it stands now...it's really hard to determine. But I'll post the actual fight when it comes out. Unless Superman is a maniacal enemy, then Goku would never do that. He always fights fair, regardless of who he faces, showing compassion. Like in the video, he'll destroy the kryptonite and resume fighting him, fair and square. In my opinion, they'll most likely end the fight in a draw.
Yo homey. You have some explaining to do. Like where did you get this idea that the Riddler was responsible for the creation of Bane? And who is "Paul Azrael" and how is he a college friend of Bruce Wayne? I think you got some characters mixed up or something..........:smt017
Goku is actual fighter. Superman relies on pure brute strength to win fights. He doesn't know martial arts nor has defeated planet destroyers like Frieza or Cell. Superman never had to take a punch from the likes of Majin Buu. Its not even close. Superman wouldn't stand a chance against any of the Saiyans.
They were in the comics. You won't find them in the movies. David S. Goyer co-wrote The Dark Knight Rises with Christopher Jordan. David S. Goyer is a comic book guy himself. The Riddler made the formula for the man who would become Bane at Arkham Asylum. Paul Azael, as I remember him was a college friend of the third Robin. I remember this from over a decade ago.
Friendly FYI : There are more than a few of us here who are quite knowledgeable on the subject of comic & cartoon characters, either by way of growing up reading and watching them or may still do so or have kids who currently read and watch comics & cartoons and stay updated that way. Clearly you must have Bane confused with another character because the Riddler had nothing to do with creating the Venom drug that Bane uses. The Venom drug is a bastardized and souped up version of the old Miraclo formula created and used by chemist Rex Tyler the original Hourman. A specialist of designer drugs named Porter somehow gained access to Tyler's Miraclo formula and found a way to both boost it's physical enhancing capabilities and expand the hour limit barrier of the old formula. Thus you have the concentrated liquid, Venom that is injected into the blood stream rather than ingested like the pill form of Miraclo. Bane was never in Arkham Asylum prior to first encountering Batman. Bane got the drug from the drug designer himself because he was in the same prison in Santa Prisca that Bane grew up in and had created & perfected Venom while he was in that prison. There is no Paul Azrael. There is a Jean Paul Valley who was the original Azrael and he wasn't a college friend of Bruce Wayne or Tim Drake the third Robin. Tim Drake was still in junior high or high school at that time.
Goku relies a lot more on pure power as well. He's never demonstrated any level of strategic after thought in any given battle. It's all about pushing his limit and the luck of being able to penetrate some flesh. And it's laughable if you think Superman has never fought any enemy on the scale of say Majin Buu. Plus, on record, Superman can lift as much as 200 quintillion tons of his weight. While dependent from writer to writer, his strength varies, there's no question that Superman can easily overpower Goku, especially when he's much closer to the sun. So if we can lay a strong punch on Goku, he can do the same to Buu with no problem. Oh and speaking of enemies...General Zod, Darkseid, and Doomsday are VERY formidable and powerful entities. Even far more dangerous than even the likes of Perfect Cell or Buu in his most powerful form. Let's see Superman cut loose, shall we?
Lets be fair. The fighting and violence level of the Dragon Ball series are far more hyper exaggerated than normal comics or cartoons,so the planet destroying villains as you call them seem more powerful. Put them on a less exaggerated level like Darkseid or Doomsday then see how they would match up.
