    Honestly TDK...

I really had no idea it was as bad as it is until I started having friendly banter back n forth about the government and gun debate with a guy on facebook. Now keep in mind he and I don't see eye to eye on the bigger issues. He owns guns and is very anti-Obama. But because we don't attack each other on different view points...he just puts forth his ideas. The first time he told me to look up NADD I was like...so? No different from the patriot act.
He's part of Anon and has shown me some dark ass shit that the media doesn't cover.

Then today I read today about Santa being arrested for sidewalk drawing. He was writing words such as love peace and grace.
That's protected under the first admendment.

He was arrested for peacefully drawing on the sidewalk.

That pretty much sealed it for me.

Which is why I don't get how anyone is comfortable with giving away damn near all their rights. There's a reason people died in the past to have these rights, it's because people who are in power typically oppress the people if given the chance. We've seen it through history too many times to deny it. I get my little pea shooter won't do anything against a tank or an airstrike if it came down to it but maybe a little resistance now will deter them from a much bigger resistance down the road.

It's not that I can't see a side for resistance. I do and always have. I just don't think heavily arming civilians is the way to go. Making it so easy to get modified weapons of those used out in the middle of war.

I don't know what the answer is but I do know that dead children ain't it. Arming teachers and turning schools into prison ain't it.

There needs to be a paradime shift.
I'm not exactly sure what most Americans think about say..this Santa thing. He is part of the occupy movement and apparently several of their memebers have been held without charges for sometime.
That's against a the law but its the law doing this. And frankly that's fucking scary.

It isn't just anyone. These are people who are speaking out against what our very government stands for. And this is how the government is responding.
I'm sure if Santa had been at a red neck tea party rally with guns instead of chalk and screaming I hate Obama he wouldn't be in jail right now

It's like I'm on the wrong side of the fence. And those who want to keep the status quo at just peachy keen with there right to be retarded intact.
With that said, I couldn't kill someone with a gun.
If that's your answer then more power to you. It's not mine and I don't think there is a happy medium anymore.

No, because it's the little town where I live, and I'm not sharing it here for privacy reasons.

Restrict gun laws, and you'll still have school shootings. I don't know why they are even bothering trying to change the laws. You think people really follow the the rules? :smt042

Just heard about the fire its fricking sad. I seriously and truly understand people being antigun. People shouldnt have to worry about their safety in schools and when theyre trying to help people. That shit is plain wrong but you have to wonder if we banned guns would this shit stop or be greatly reduced?
Maybe a heavier tax on bullets? But then all I keep thinking of is blacknmarket vendors selling them illegally. Even if we did a retroactive ban making anyone who owns a gun legal or not subject to prosecution youd just up the population of legal gun owners. This shit is so fucked

This was very tragic. So was the killing of two Topeka cops today.

Dude, guns are in every corner of the world. If a poor 10 year old in Sierra Leone or the Congo can get his hands on a gun no thanks to his recruiters, you don't think the richest country in the world's criminals won't be able to?

The guy today was a violent criminal who brutally murdered his gramdma with a hammer...and was released from jail.
He set fire to his whole house and subsequently 7 other homes, which could have killed many others and his sister has disappeared. This shit is NOT about effing guns.

Here is a classic example of a criminal who illegally got his hands on a gun and an accelerant, because he made it his business to. I have no doubt if he didn't find a way to get a gun, he'd have set explosives in that house to kill them. He's a violent murderous psychopath.

Why was he still not in jail or executed?

I hear two firefighters were shot to death today by a crazy who set a fire to draw them to the scene. Also I heard that the worst mass murder was in 1927 in which 38 children were killed and seven adults from a crazy who lost a local election. He used a bomb. I'm researching this one right now. We have had mass killings before and will again.

That's the one we were just speaking of.

And here is some info on the worst US mass murder -

Thank you Ms. Bliss. You are amazing to bring this up. Funny, why has the traditional media not researched this one for the national debate to put this issue of mass killings into a historical perspective and context?

Its all about knee jerk reactions. The reality is none of us are ever really safe

I just heard the Clackamas mall shooting may have been disrupted by an armed citizen. It seems there were a few local reports before the story got conveniently buried. If true this is a glaring and (IMO) DECEPTIVE omission by the media.

I'd already written the mainstream media off as being so biased as to be virtually worthless. Bliss's thread about the publication of law abiding gun owners' personal info is further confirmation of this incredible journalistic irresponsibility.

There is no interest in a genuine debate, ie: two sides pro and con given equal time to make fact based arguments in a fair and moderated forum. This will not happen as any case of legit self defense will not be reported.
