Lol so if I dont jump on the rara shes awesome bandwagon Im degrading here? Lol I said she was a good athlete kid
As much as TDK's comments make him sound sexist (sorry, they do) he has a point. A point I was trying to make. This girl has skill. No doubts about it. But how much sport are these 10 years olds really playing? How committed are they to playing the sport? She may be running all over them because half of the boys don't really want to be on the field playing. It's just something to consider. You can see she has talent, but that won't bring her or any female into the NFL someday. Like I pointed out - even if the NFL has a female kicker someday - she'll be a liability because there are times that the kicker is the last line of defense against a punt/kick return for a TD and a female's body cannot go against a hulking male football player's body running at full speed and tackle him. It's just not feasible. These football players are HUGE beasts of men. Women can't compete with them. They would get destroyed. Anyway, the girl has skills and she'll be good at whatever sport she ends up playing if she continues nursing that talent of hers.
Agreed he has a point, but I like to keep an open mind. I am not a raging feminist by any stretch, but people said they would never have female astronauts, fighter pilots, fire fighters etc......I am irritated as I asked a QUESTION about what people thought about the POSSIBLITY. That was it. I was not intending for people to be all up on what one gender can or can't do. Some people felt inclined to turn this into a debate and its dumb. Oh and anyone who wants to yawn at the thread, press on and DON"T READ it LOL
Come on S. I answered the question and stated why I thought that. Btw siting two people who answered the way you wanted them to answer is a little bias. I answered too but I didnt agree with you. Thats the only diffetenve
I never stated that she WOULD be the first, I just asked if there is a possibility. You don't think so fine, but there is no need to down play the accomplishments of this young lady.
There are things men and women will NEVER be equal in and should stay that way. The notion that a girl will play in the NFL would be pushing the equality hoopla a bit too far. There is a reason why women get away with hitting men and men get punished severely in doing the same. I have a daughter and i would applaud her if she outplays her male counterparts in football( what americans call soccer) at her age but what i wont do is clap and say" keep it up and you could play with the men when you grow up". Mia Ham for all her talent would struggle to play for the national team of Vanuatu.
