So the jackass VP of the NRA, Wayne LaPierre, is blaming video games now for the cause of this mentally unstable kid, Lanza for committing acts of atrocity?

    Such a damn hypocrite.

    Haha!

Like we haven't heard that in this thread?

What were you expecting him to say?

The NRA would like to apologize the the American people and most importantly to the dead victims of the sandy hook shooting for the proliferation of weapons used solely for the hunting and murder of human beings. We will change our tactic from this point on and work together with a nation that is appalled at our violence and worship of guns and heartbroken at the result out former logic has helped create in this country.

What is said above is what is said by most sane Americans who fear for their safety just as much as those who have guns. However, we also know that further fear and division won't heal.

What the VP of the NRA has said is what's said by Mentally Defective people who crave power and money over the sanctity of life and cling to an amendment that is long dead of its original purpose and said purpose has been twisted by people like him since they became a political force corrupt with power in Washington

LaPierre also said the NRA would be spearheading a campaign to put armed guards in EVERY SCHOOL IN AMERICA.

I hope all you get a chance to hear LaPierre's press conference. That guy does not sound like someone who should be allowed to own a handgun.

He's literally scared of his own shadow because it might be packing.

Does anyone else here miss the savory and sweet irony that what Mr. NRA is recommending up there in andre's post is the very thing the 2nd amendment to the constitution is suppose to protect against?

A police state. That's what they all stock pile for right?

Oh breakfast has been good this morning!

    My Facebook status today...

"Burn in hell, Wayne LaPierre and every member of the NRA. I think you should be forced to sir and listen to the shrieking cries of every loved one who had lost someone to gun violence. Because of your unwillingness to recognize that your right to own a senseless weapon that's designed to kill is NOT more important than peoples' right to live, you have blood on your hands. Apparently, your right to want to kill things is more important than 20 kids' right to be at home with their families on Christmas. Merry Christmas, assholes."

    A scourge on your houses.

Any of you guys find it interesting how this is finally an issue that cannot be tolerated when its white kids but when it was black and hispanic kids all summer in Chicago it was cool?
Hard for me to get behind this one based on the sheer bias of it and the fact that I think most registered gun owners aren't a threat.
If someone can possibly show me some kind of stat where heavier regulation doesn't just produce more illegal contraband rather than reduce its intended target or is this just more about how you feel versus what is real.

In Miami-Dade county, the school board has school district police officers at all the schools that need them. They are there every day. They are armed. I think Wayne La Pierre did not ask about that. I think that is what will soon be implemented by local law enforcement across the country.

Lets get real people. This didn't have anything to do with violent video games or violent movies, it didn't even have anything to do with mental illness. It's the ACCESS to guns that is the problem. Mental illness, violent games and movies exist in every country. But America is the world leader in gun related deaths, and that is because of the ACCESS to guns.

I do believe i had a thread regarding this military/police state type rule this is where America is headed and with this NRA idioit proposing armed guards in the schools next thing you know there will be arm guards in the grocery stores, movie theaters,etc.. with a proposal like this brings that notion more and more into existance, and video games making people kill that is just nuts it is not the guns that kill people it is people behind the guns killing people any human being that wants to kill another human being in that manner especially children is crazy as hell. That lil boy should have never been taught to use a weapon or had access to weapons.

    When was that?
Btw sorry I should have said in the US but that was self explainitory since we're talking about guns in the UD

Stop being so silly Huntress..with your logical and compassionate thinking.
Of course we can't compare ourselves to Australians! We aren't them. They could never begin to understand our plight here in America!

And of course WHY ever would be want to be a sane country such as them? That's just so un-American!

No...lets just put cops and armed civilians everywhere and watch how deaths from guns don't occur.

it had a LOT to do with it

serial killers....like that 'Son of Sam' guy...mothafucka believed a dog was Satan, commanding him to kill innocent people

the movie theater shooter??? mentally ill

    the VT shooter?? mentally ill

these mass murderers are straight up bonkers, and if they didn't have guns they'd be doing other shit like packing trucks with fertilizer and blowing up the sides of buildings

Like I said before the people who who want to put stong regulation on guns are usually the people who know the least about guns. You want to ban the M-15 and keep the shotgun?? Why because the m-15 looks scary?? Do you really think a M-15 is more dangerous than a shotgun?? If you are ever within 35 yards of a shotgun, I would call that a bad day. I would much rather my enemy have an M15 than a shotgun. And yes, thank God that the maniacs are just as clueless about guns as you are.

My point is that mental illness is not the differentiating factor. The access to the weapons is the key in the equation.
