Sammy & Marilyn

I know of two photos of Sammy Davis Jr.and Marilyn Monroe:One of him dancing next to her and another of him and her wearing the dress she had in the flick Niagra. Has anyone found those photos? Also,I know of another one from the book by his daughter from Mai Britt which shows them more closer.

 

But they weren't a couple.

 

They were for a short time.

 

Not sure about Sammy and Marilyn, probably had a session or two most likely. Though it is an open secret in tinsel town that Marilyn was def down with the bruthas. She'd frequent lots of the black clubs in South Central. Of course it's never been officially recognized due to her being such a powerful sex symbol for America. So Sammy most likely got the goodies.

Anyone convorting with negroes, especially a famous white woman was the reason. Also the same Marilyn dated Robert and John Kennedy too. They were also killed by the same man.

 

Rumors have long been out that she and Sammy were "close" friends because he was a member of the Rat Pack so he just might have hit it for real. Also the pic of her at the table with the brother in the club could be misleading because she would go to these risque clubs with the guy to her left in the pic who was a friend of hers in the industry. He was supposedly gay too so Marilyn was his beard I guess when he would go to these clubs & meet up with black dudes.

True, I did hear the white guy was gay. So in all reality she could have just been a beard for him to actually get in the club. Though I think Marilyn was definitely in there for some fun too. She was almost notorious for hanging around the black side of town. Studios had to threaten her to keep her away. I will admit tho that the photo could be interpreted many other ways. BTW My B for re-posting the topic. Didn't kno there was a whole thread on it.

 

Many thanks Quantumblack. I did not know of others as well. Davis did a color photo of Marilyn Monroe wearing that same dress. Plus,I did not know her official photog Milton Greene did some shots too along with other photographers. Q,can you find that photobucket album as well?

You did a good job QBlack on the images and pleased you found the site. The dress on that second photo looked similar to the one she wore in Nigagra and the color photo was taken by Sammy Davis Jr.

Hey no problem on that. Glad Soul brought it back up because Marilyn was more "down" than a lot of people realize. I think she would have enjoyed living in this era too.

 

Marilyn Monroe and Sammy Davis, Jr. were just friends. Nothing more than that.

Maybe no "concrete" evidence otherwise...so far but I wouldn't be surprised if they "fooled around" as friends. Same thing with Sammy & Marilyn Chambers btw. :smt080

 

Sorry,unless you knew Sammy up close I still believe he did date Marilyn Monroe,Ms.Chambers or any other actress associated with him.
