If it was all about war technology, Air power would win it hands down.

    Blah :smt019
Besides, all you offered was they'd overpower any resistance from oppressed US citizens with their tanks. I still say 300 million guns could do it! :smt109

    *Disclaimer:
This is of course all hypothetical scenarios since BIG BROTHER is watching the interweb for key words

Well one did whose story I did just post a bit back....and what about McVie and the baby Daycare center on the 1st floor of the Murrah Building? At least admit making explosives causes more damage and aren't that difficult to construct to a killer hell bent on mass murder.

    You guys are something else.

If you want to know what this country would do against an armed coup, read about what happened to other groups that tried it. Like the Black Panther Party or the Underground Weathermen of the 1970's. The FBI's COINTELPRO (Counter Intelligence Program) was hell, had people in their own groups turning on each other.

Fred Hampton was a leader of the Chicago branch of the Black Panther Party in 1969. He was shot as he was sleeping in his bed 84 times by the Chicago Police. All of the information they had on him, his apartment layout, when he usually goes to bed, etc. was given to them by one of Fred's own trusted comrades.

This country knows how to deal with an armed insurrection, they will destroy it from within, make it so nobody will truly trust anyone. Been dealing with armed insurrection since the slavery days and Nat Turner.

If you are willing to forfeit your rights under the consitution then by all means have at it, but don't expect us to buy into that bullshit.

Dude. People can't even come together and agree on how to fix problems in America right now. Do you honestly think people would be even able to come together and organize to overthrow a corrupt government if they had to?? :smt104

The corrupt elements of the government would have to be in agreement in order to overthrow the legit government we have in the first place. Due to the checks and balances we have that is not likely. andmendment#2 is a small but important part of those checks and balances.

As a country of mostly law-abiding citizens we have been reduced to picking our poison, of who we would rather face in the wrong place at the wrong time:---A single, loner, mentally deranged white man who will shoot and kill 25 people all at once in a fit of rage.......OR.......25 minority young men who will commit 25 violent robberies, shooting and killing 25 different innocent people in a single night...........We are going to hell in a hand-basket.......

    Didn't read the thread.

    You know how I feel.

I hate guns. Think the 2nd amendment is a waste at this point. Anyone still arguing for the 2nd amendment in the days after this tragedy is an idiot.

We need stricter gun laws, and we need them right fucking now.

Babies are dead because people are assholes. The NRA has blood on their hands for this, as does anyone who subscribes to their bullshit 'we're clinging to our guns and religion' mantras. Fuck them.

can you read? Here in layman terms...........Amendment 2 to is here to protect the citizens of the US by protecting the legit government. If the legit government is overthrown in any way then Amendment 2 (although limited)helps the citizens overthrow the corrupt government because they will be still be armed. Whats so hard to understand about that?? Its about the will of the people, does the word democracy sound familar to you??

Will of the people?? Where is all this "will of the people" currently at to get some of the laundry list of fucked up shit corrected in this country?? In fact where the fuck has it been for the last 20 plus years that shit was slowly building towards critical??

That's ridiculous. So does the fertilizer industry for McVay? Babies are dying at a far higher rate because of what monsanto puts in the food so why aren't you pissed at them?
Millions of legal gun owners in this country and people aren't dropping like flies. Ever wonder why?

Lets be fair if the threat was immediate like a government take over I think the reaction would correspond. I was here for 9/11 and I can say that I witnessed more love and cooperation in the following week after that occurred than any other time in my life outside of this recent hurricane. When we need to we can ban together.

Guns are created specifically to end the lives of living things. Fertilizer was not. I have a big problem with the fact that you can get a gun almost as easily as you can get a slurpee from 7-11.

And since Australia passed sweeping gun legislation, gun violence is way down, including crimes that used to involve guns. Those people are onto something.

NRA has yet to come forward to even offer condolences to the victims and their families.
Don't know about you but when I would fuck up as a kid and knew I was guilty I wouldn't confess my guilt either.
