what is hard restrictions? I mean honestly. You have better restrictions and saftey guidelines on cars than a gun. again, 40% of gun sales go without backround checks and unregistered because the NRA fought against it. why?why are you guys against it? its the same damn thing you do with a car.

just because you have a gun doesnt make you an expert. you can drop a gun and it will go off. now that is some stupid ass shit. no safety against that. a man shoots own son at gun range.

    http://www.deseretnews.com/article/...ally-shoots-son-at-shooting-range.html?pg=all

yes you have to deal with the mentally ill BUT the NRA block gun backround checks on the mentally ill (gun restrictions) here is the result of that. this wasnt reported
    http://www.sodahead.com/living/woma...ooting-range-gunman-four-sh/question-2662581/

exacyly because during the 90's and the early 2000's ban on assualt rifles was in play...so you can say crime was down due to that.

we will be saying the same thing. piers morgan had NRA members whose family member (son i believe) died in a shooting want gun restrictions.

what people dont know is that most nra members want gun restrictions BUT the NRA represent gun manufacturers not gun "people". gun manufacturers make money selling guns to civvies the reAL money is not in the military.

My clarification was for Andre as he made a few false assumptions about the military. A bomb will cause more damaged if planned than any gun. I was speaking from my experience but I am sure you have more experience in this area than I do which is by you felt te need to reply to me. The first part was about the high casualty rate of a planned bomb over a few guns from an angry man I dunno like the Oklahoma City bombing vs this current mass killing. But ummm yeah keep on believing it a gun problem and not a people problem. The second part was correcting a misconception about military tactics. I gather you find it difficult to tell the difference.

    Guns don't kill people.
    People with guns kill people.
Can't ban people, so let's put some limitations on what's considered acceptable gun ownership.

I'll have a discussion about homemade explosives the next time a lunatic makes a bomb and blows up a school.

    Update:
"Morgan Freeman denies making statement about school shooting"

    http://news.yahoo.com/morgan-freeman-denies-making-statement-school-shooting-013627371.html

    How true.
BTW, how did the Govt respond? Gave the pilots guns. And impenetrable bolted doors. No one has stormed a cockpit since. Who would ever think we'd have to do that to something innocent as planes.

It was revealed this killer was a student at Conn. University at age 16...(the Aurora shooter was also braniac, the Oregon Mall shooter w/ the Jason hockey mask was of average intelligence. All were same sex/race/age.similar. Hmmm).

Clearly deranged killers such as these target malls/movie-theaters/fast-food rest/public transport and schools because of an abundance of helpless victims. I'm seriously now considering getting a permit to carry. People are getting crazier by the day.

LOL @ this shit. If you raise a gun to the police whether you're right or wrong, your ass is either going to get shot dead on the spot or you'll end up doing a long stretch in prison.

And do you really think that citizens can rise up against the government with handguns and automatic rifles? These days, a drone will blow your ass up before you know you're being targeted.

smart move, most people don't want a gunfight or any fight for that matter, the maniacs target unarmed people.

For those who think the 2nd Amendment is your personal bulwark against tyranny, remember the only way you and your pea shooters could take down Uncle Sam is through the support of a military coup and at least one branch of the military behind your movement.

There is no other way for civilians in this country to effectively take on the collective might of the most well armed military in the world.

People need to understand the unique historical realities during the 18th century that made the American Revolution possible, and even then we had foreign military support from France.

No such revolution would be possible today without an aligned military revolt occurring at the same.

Just figured I would inform you. That is not the only purpose of the 2nd amendment.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

In 2008 and 2010, the Supreme Court issued two landmark decisions concerning the Second Amendment. In District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), the Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm, unconnected to service in a militia[1][2] and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home. In dicta, the Court listed many longstanding prohibitions and restrictions on firearms possession as being consistent with the Second Amendment.[3] In McDonald v. Chicago, 561 U.S. 3025 (2010), the Court ruled that the Second Amendment limits state and local governments to the same extent that it limits the federal government.

That is why we have separate branches of military and government even the legislative branch has two chambers of congress, the citizens have their right to vote and the constitution including amendment#2. seperation of powers and checks and balances are there for a reason, I am not a personal fan of the founding fathers, but they were not dummies the system is the way it is for a reason and it works. Guns are dangerous enough for you to want to regulate, now you call them pea shooters........OK:smt012

Pea shooters in relation to the weaponry and armaments of the U.S. military.
    Let's not make this complicated.

WTH, no one really thinks all that, c'mon now - we have said repeatedly that the US Military has Nukes. In anti-oppression coups though we do often see the military switch sides :smt112, however you are right which is why I said earlier it's symbolic. Relax. You still won't overturn the 2nd Amendment, so quit whining and focus on the REAL PROBLEM.

MASS SCHOOL BOMBING in 1927 puts Sandy Hook in context

On May 18, 1927, a part-time caretaker at a school in Bath, Michigan, killed 45 people, including 38 children, when he blew up a school and then killed himself, along with two first responders at the scene. Another 58 people were wounded.

The 38 children were in grades three through six.

The Bath School Bombing faded quickly from history. What media there was in 1927 left the town after about a week, since aviator Charles Lindbergh had started on his flight to Europe.

However, there are parallels between the Sandy Hook and Bath disasters that are worth discussing.

The killer in the Bath School Bombing, Andrew Kehoe, spent months placing explosives inside the school. He used his job as a handyman to wire together two types of explosives, in an elaborate plan to bring down the building while it was occupied with students and teachers.

Kehoe also rigged his car with explosives and shrapnel, as well as his house.

Once Kehoe blew up his own house, he used a detonator to blow up part of the school. School Superintendent Emory Huyck performed heroically, rescuing children and adults from the disaster scene. After about 30 minutes, Kehoe drove up to Huyck and motioned him over to his truck.

Kehoe then blew up the truck, killing himself, Hucyk, and several others, including a child who survived the first blast.

Investigators later found more than 500 pounds of unexploded dynamite under the school. Kehoe had intended to kill hundreds of people, mostly students, but his wiring was faulty.

Kehoe had financial problems and was upset about having to pay taxes. He had killed his own wife before blowing up his house.....more

    ***************************************

There's more facts to this story, including how 50,000 people came to the town to offer help in the aftermath, and the hundred$ of thousand$ of donation$ that poured in...

    It's a riveting story. http://news.yahoo.com/mass-school-bombing-1927-puts-sandy-hook-context-185608674.html

You think the U.S. military would have to rely on nuclear missiles to defeat a modern militia movement?? BTW no one wants to repeal the 2nd Amendment.

    Anyway....:smt070

Why hasn't the NRA been available for a public statement following the massacre in Connecticut??
    That is super shady/cowardly IMO.

AB is reaching, why would anyone nuke the place they are trying to conquer?? Nukes for the most part are also symbolic. The reward of war is the booty. If you nuke the land guess what? No booty. Why win a war if the end result is that your ass is broke and homeless. We probably wont invade north korea, cause guess what, there is no booty. AB just not thinking this one through.

    Huh?
Bliss keeps saying you can't overthrow the Feds because they have nukes. My point is the U.S. military has so many assets they could use to defeat any domestic militia movement that they'd never have to rely on nuclear weapons.

    Talk to Bliss.:smt109

Afganistan beat Russia, because afganistan has far superior technology right?? There is more to war than the tools

The Russians couldn't defeat the Afghani mujaheddin because Uncle Sam was supplying them with grenade launchers and shoulder mounted stinger missiles.

War is always about technology, ideology, and popular support among the people.
Also it helps to have powerful benefactors.
