Webmaster, what about a commentary thread where the poster can post his or hers opinions and ideas without response from other posters. The commentary post will not be lossed to mindless rebuttles that throw the essence of thought off track and become a mindless exercise as what happens to so many excellent threads in the past. Let the poster post the commentary and let it stand without response. It (the thread or forum) becomes an archive of critical thoughts and opinions (good or bad). Let the posters express critical thinking without fear. Who knows what we can get from such a free flow of thought.
This doesn't make any sense! Critical thinking partly involves the ability to be self critical and the willingness to be criticized by others without fear. This is a forum, not a blog and even most of those allow for rebuttal/replies.
Completely agree, besides, what will another "thought thread" do that the other "thought threads" we already have do not do. Besides, a new one will just as easily be derailed as any other "thought thread" or other thread for that matter. Maybe I dont get what BT is trying to convey.
BT wants a free for all section, where the rules dont apply. I get what he believes would be an entertaining thread or area however brawls would break out, it would be more detrimental to the site than the porn threads that get the domain black listed and not visible behind most public and business firewalls.
I belong to another forum and they have a thread called unpopular opinions. People can post things or ideas they like and know are not going to be met with approval or responses of rejection because if you go in there you better expect to see things things or thoughts that are ...........unpopular. If I understand BT correct he is proposing the same idea as that?? People seem to like it there. Meh.......we could try it with the ok.

The only thing around here that is "safe" and doesn't cause arguing or insults is posting pics of women with their pussies hanging out. Quickly this board is turning into all porn pics. Sad commentary on behavior and the maturity level of people around here. It takes away from the people who could handle the thread, like on that other board. People there have a live and let live attitude. Here people have a if you don't think like me then fvck you attitude.....people need to grow up so we can move past porn pics and have discussions where at the end of the day not all people agree. Then the babysitting will stop and people will be trusted to act like adults.

Somebody's forgetting all the arguments we had in the locker room over what types of women should be posted. That's just a license for trolls. Is every thought you have PC, nice or popular with the masses? We don't all have to think like clones to exist. The problem started when people were ridiculed for doing or thinking their way. They already do post that. It's in EVERY thread on here. Where you been? The thought on the other place was a place for people to get stuff off their chest and if you can't handle yourself don't go in there. But it's really not like those examples you gave. When I have time later I will go and fetch and paste a few from there so you can see what things people say. A few is good.......but seriously it's all it is now. People who used to participate have now been run ramshackle over and think posting pics is the only way to participate. Now that's sad. I just think is it a little sad. I like a hot pic like the next but also like to learn what others have to offer. I must say I respect BT for asking up front. Most would have done and not cared what admin thinks. Webmaster, the idea behind a commentary tread or forum is an idea from the traditional dying newspaper "opinion section". It could be set up like opinions from various political spectrums like the left, the right, or the center. The people against this would be those who fear challenges to their own mindsets, are partisans who refuse to hear the other side of an issue that they fear, and those who fear losing power presence on the site who want to be kings and queens to all. I say, no response because, if one has to rant over an issue like gun control, immigration, gay rights, ect.... then let that person can "rant" without the mindless disruptions and purposeful distractions to take the thoughts of the participants off track, thus killing the initiative to express oneself. NO RESPONSE. Let your members get the shit off their chest so to speak.
