Ethnicelebs: What Race Are Thou Thread

America is such a race obsessed country that touches those of us with mixed race children. Ever get that "Oh, by the way what is he or she", or "What is he or she's background", or my "favorite "what color is he or she". I feel for the those children of mixed race parents in the public eye who have to explain what they are like Derek Jeter.

Most of the people who would talk to me already know me and know the story. But on the rare occasions when someone does ask, I just ask them "what do they mean?" and give them a dumb look to force them to articulate their own clumsy ass, prying question, just to enjoy their discomfort. Then, once it's asked, I just answer truthfully and then turn back to my son without giving them any more room to intrude.
