Dumb things I have seen on dating website

Maybe it's just an opener for them to say something to you?? Everything about you can't be in your profile. I would assume it's just starting dialog ....how do you prefer they start out?

I don't online date but even in person guys kind of fumble or ask the obvious in a nervous opener.:smt102

 

Yes but after reading the profile it would be easier to ask for something specific rather than ask a question that is very wide open.
Especially when I respond something and then they say "okay"and then ask about specifics that are already mentioned on the profile.
Or when I ask "Anything particular you'd like to know" and then they say "the basics for starters",which are of course on the profile.
Personally when I initiate contact with a person after reading their profile I ask a specific question that they have not covered with their personal description.

 

I've been using plentyoffish recently and have had some success actually(since my breakup with the blonde).

But it still annoys me when these out of shape/fat chicks message me. Its insulting to even think they have a chance cause they dont. Not to toot my own horn but I'm in really good shape and expect my female to be in equal/good shape as well.

Also, I've noticed that a lot of fat chicks say they have an "avg body". SMDH. Ladies, be upfront with your weight. That goes to the fellas as well. Have up to date photos to give out ALWAYS.

 

Do you have it mentioned in your profile that you prefer a medium size/fit/in shape kind of woman?
If not it may be something to consider.

 

Its been quite a while since I did ol dating but I never responded to someone who had stupid handles such as "daddylovestatas" or "hotlvr" or "adonis" or such dumb thing. It looks like they only want one thing, which is fine - but I clearly had in my profile that I an not interested in just a hump type thing.

I also remember someone that sent me a a request who only had really silly pictures of him w his glasses on the back of his head, one w a pot on his head etc and all pictures had a silly expression on his face - no way to tell how he really looked. When I sent a message telling him that I was not interested, he responded "that is the response I get all the time" I kindly suggested that he may want to put up a normal picture.. he said that he didn't want that because he wanted to show his "fun nature", ok, continue pay then and not get any takers.

OH, and how about teh one that was communicating with both me and Tarshi - having the exact same conversation w us. That was fun

Never responded to anyone that clearly hadn't read the profile.

Or the ones that contacted you, but when you start communicating, you get a short one way response each time. Meh.

Or the ones that ask for a nekked pic right of the bat.

That was hilarious. Some men are so damn stoopid. I think we've had 2 men contact us where we were like ???????

 

This. If I'm checking out your profile I don't really care who your friends are, I'd rather know more about the person whose profile I'm looking at.

I also want to add the duckface shot to this list. No woman has ever looked sexy doing that. Ever.

 

Yes. And even worse too, when they have no profile. Nothing.

Or when they tell you "I don't have my pic up because of my job", or I'm high-profile"...more like you are either a serial dater on the site, or married.

Which leads me to the next 'fun' dumb thing...the proverbial email from the wife telling me the guy contacting me from the site is married.

I even received an email from a female on the site who had hacked the website's INBOX account of a guy she was dating. She warned each of us ladies of each other that he was simultaneously wooing us, and that he was just out for sex. Hilarious!

 

I'm on POF and there seems to be a growing trend of women pictured with goldfish bowls of alcohol. Instantly off putting.

I dont blame men for spamming women with copy and paste messages, women your really interested in have very low response rates even when you use custom tailored openers. I feel that alot of women just use dating websites as ego boosters.

 

If I was going to lie about my height, I would lie that I am shorter so that the lady is all wow you are taller than I thought.

True some women do, I've had several men say 'you wouldn't believe what a lot of these women expect from me (jobs, looks, behavior, etc)" It's like they look for reasons to turn a guy down.
Having said that, a lot of men are merely casting a wide net with c & p and wait for whomever bites. Doubt they even care what she is about.
