NPR's On the Media covered a story last Friday regarding First Amendment rights vs. privacy: How far can it go? Enter IsAnybodyDown.com, a website in which users can freely post nude images of people whom they personally know onto the site and can also include their social networking links, email address, and other areas of access. Below are the official site AND the NPR interview with the creator. Official Is Anybody Down Website (Warning: Contains explicit imagery) NPR Interview with Creator of Website One thing I can confirm from the whole ordeal is that I've already found somebody I know personally and there's a good chance photos of you could be found on there. What do you think? Protected under 1st Amendment? Or simply a sick perverted person who like to invade the privacy of others?
The thing is, when everything is public, the voyeur quality of "invading" privacy loses its luster. If there is a naked pic of all of us on the web, a site like this is no longer interesting. Legally, it should depend on how the photograph was obtained. If someone stole your camera or imagefile then you should be protected.
The problem is that they post access to your social networking sites etc. That is a disaster waiting to happen. Dude will sooner or later indirectly responsible for a young girl getting stalked - or worse. Also, he poses as a lawyer (which he is not) and charge 250 dollars for legal advice/talking down pictures. Both of whcih sounds like very illegal to me. He is a scumbag of epic proportions. YOu think posting the contact info is illegal, I hope he gets shut down
I think this site will get taking down because it conflicts with a number of our current social/community standards that would never be approved by a numer of judges or the supreme court. However, stalkers or anyone that's competent in searching the web can gather much of this info if they want to.
True on the first, also true on the latter but having that said, "we" dont need to make it easier do we?
I don't see the floodgates being held back. Once a photo is on the web, that's it!!! But if everyone's info is public, if we are all naked as it were, the interest of seeing nudes is about as interesting as finding sand on the beach.
lol, da fukz?? So is this a hook up site like craig list. Ppl are losing their damn mind in this world.
