I feel ya. I have traveled for work for about 8 years now and an expense account and fancy restaurants have long faded. When I attend conferences (about 12 times per year) your meetings are restricted to before and after so that entails a lot of breakfast and dinner meetings - that cuts into my off time and ends up being 14-16h days.
Not to mention I eat clean but when you deal with those restrictions, that doesn't necessarily happen. I much rather cook my own food.
I go to the gym 7d /week when I am home, but when on the road, you have to work with what you have and Marriott doesn't necessarily help w what I want. I WANT A SQUAT RACK damn it!!! and REAL weights. LOL.

Problem is, that when you come off a busy schedule, its hard to adjust.. I drank 2 glasses of wine last night - in an attempt to wind down and go to sleep - HA! That just made me clean the house, at midnight! Couldn't stand the mess since I have barely been home in months! So much for sleeping pill wine:)

It might be easier if you can find the time to just pay for a visit to the YMCA. They are usually like $5-$10 per visit and a good workout there every other day while on the road might be better than a less satisfying one with the limited facilities on offer at the hotel.

That was my intention when I started this work, to use YMCA...... but.
When I travel for work - I end up working about 12-16h per day, and once I am back at the hotel room, I have to catch up with emails and other on line work issues. I don't have time and energy to go look for a YMCA or get there for that matter so I just use what I have at the hotel. I think that is the unfortunate reality for most road warriors, we don't have the luxury of time when traveling, you have to do what is most convenient. That leads a lot of road warriors at the bar and that is the reason I never spend my time there, its pathetic and sad. So I do what I can at the Marriott gym.

I sympathize. I travel a lot during the legislative session, but I lucked out because there's a Y en route to the capitol building, so I just fold it into my morning routine.

If you got a chance to go and see the phenom RG3, you go. :) Even though you arent a Skins fan, I think as a football fan you'd enjoy the show RG3 will put on. You cant get this same type of excitement from watching Joe Flacco play.:p

LOVE RG3....on the Ravs it is Torrey, Ray and Ed..Flacco is annoying as fuck,,,when he declared he is the best he QB in NFL..Big Saints fan too and Brees is WAY better.

Sadly the only other game I went to was the Vikings and Patriots when we won free tickets. I LOATHE the Patriots, particularly Tom Brady. Why or why can;t someoen invite me to a Ravs, Saints or Giants game?? LOL

Yeah Ed Reed is one dynamic player i must say. Im happy he wasn't suspended for one game on that bs defenseless player penalty he received for that nice LEGAL(imo) hit. lol Being an Saints fan as well, you must've been pissed when we beat y'all the first game of the season huh?:)

No...as a Saints fan, I have expected a bad year and I was glad to see RG3 such a fanstastic first NFL game. The young man is a pleasure to watch.

In Germany it was just a regular day,so I worked and then came home showered and made dinner for myself.
Even on holidays we do celebrate my family does not really go overboard on things.
Christmas Eve (the 24th is when pretty much all christmas activities happen in Germany) I have to work half of the day I found out. Bummer!
