This reminds me of a thread I made once. It had a few people who mentioned wage gaps, white privilege, and gender and so on... Hmmmm... if only I could remember the name of that thread...
lots of factors influence wage gap asians are WAY more likely to go to college AND graduate (and go on to med school, IT, engineering, etc), whereas blacks are just trying to get a mofo to attend, period last i checked, asian median wage was like astronomically higher than blacks and much higher than whites
I Disagree... 6.3%: Black Males (age 18-55+) enroll in College at a higher rate by sex than White Males and Hispanic Males and are surpassed only by Asian Males (Black Males is 6.3%, White Males is 5.8%, Hispanic Males is 4.7%, and Asian Males is 9.7%) US Census Bureau: American Community Survey: Table 1. Enrollment Status of the Population 3 Years Old and Over, by Sex, Age, Race, Hispanic Origin, Foreign Born, and Foreign-Born Parentage: October 2009
LMAO!!! You know that I was going to mention it at least once. I wonder why certain people might be absent from this thread. This involves discrimination due to the fact that she is a WOMAN who happens to be black. Interesting to see who feminism actually works for.
are they graduating tho? if you find me a reliable statistic that says BMs are more likely to attend college and graduate than white males, ill eat my own shit i really will...
My argument was to your comment that said, "it's hard to get mofos to attend". As far as graduation rates I have seen them go back and forth depending on the season. Statistically women go to school and graduate more than men regardless of race. Statistically there are more scholarships and assistance that women can apply for than men. Interesting stuff.
well it is... anything under 70 or 80 isnt enough especially considering how stacked the deck is against us graduation rates from what i seen are atrocious
college doesnt guarantee success and other people may be going to trade schools fact remains that the average college grad is more likely to make more money over their lifetime than a non grad guess playing the safe game isnt as fun as that fast money shit
Wow great point fam. Kind of begs the question do feminist only consider ww women and only use women of other races as vehicles to push their agenda.
Shit is there even a safe game any more? Getting a decent living wage is like hitting the lottery these days.
Trade School, Military, Entrepreneurship.. etc. the list goes on. There are many avenues that we may end up going. But, the truth is there are many who just do not and I agree with that. I just disagree that it is hard to get us to attend. Plenty of black men that I went to school with left to become air traffic controllers among other things simply to lower the cost of loans and to start getting a paycheck much sooner. But, that is my limited experience with the subject.
I find it interesting that the title of the thread is about a woman being discriminated against for employment, yet the normal group of feminists aren't present. I think someone should have added "And was hit by a man" to the title of the thread.
pretttttttttttty much networks were always in style, dating back to them real good ole days but now...even more with the economy and people losing jobs left and right shit a department within the major hospital next to me got rid of their entire staffing for a less paid, more flexible type of outsourced setup
I'm sure they read the article and as soon as they saw it was a black girl they decided it had nothing to do with them or they couldn't contribute to the topic since it was about race. Which is something I also notice a lot. With exception of Bliss most of these women avoid talking about race like the plague. For women so interested in bm you'd think they'd take more of an interest.
in all fairness, they probably distance themselves since many of us have said, and will say that unless they're black, they have no grasp on the subject if you start letting them in and treating their opinions with the respect they treat your (or lack), then maybe we'd have more unifed involvement
Did that at my job too. These people want to cut benefits as much as possible. Which has nothing to do with Obamacare btw. They don't want to be responsible for sick time, vacation, and the overtime associated with it anymore.
people used to work full time at my hospital, then go to the other hospital and double dip on a part-time gig doing the same shit and bring home healthy-ass checks that gravy train definitely stopped when i talked to some about it they looked at me with that screwface
I can't speak for anyone else but I only assert the you wouldn't understand unless you're black comment when there are obvious things they don't see because well... they aren't black. Instead of trying to listen they try to assert their truths based on either zero experience or an outsiders perspective. I guess it comes down to the approach. Like when I've made comments about the system being unfair to blacks and they (Bliss, Ches, and Paniro) claim that I'm blaming "whitey" it shows a complete lack of understanding and unwillingness to listen. Supposedly the system that oppresses everyone who isn't rich is only for white people lol
