I feel sorry for the General's wife who followed him for 37 years of service and was the piller for him. If marriage is on the road to extinction as many hope, will there ever be any real trust again between men and women in a relationship? Will there always be that nagging suspicion of another? I have a friend who is going through this same thing right now. His wife of 13 years is in a relationship with a man who is her husband's co-worker. The brother is torn. They have one child. He is contemplating divorce, but is concern about his daughter's future. He said that he will never trust another woman again. How should I advise him?
Tough for the general, but one's got to progress in life. It was tougher for former President BC. For your friend, don't give him any specific action to take especially if you have never gone through a similar experience. Tell him you're there for him whenever he needs you. To help him further, perhaps you should get him a respected marriage counsellor/therpaist around you. You pay for the service. Get him (and his wife) there, whichever case suits better. Let him(them) narrate the whole thing to the therapist.
