This thread was NOT what I expected LMMFAO!!! However I will spread my entire day worth of reps in this one!! :smt043:smt043:smt043
^^^^For some of you guys in this thread who say this video is "very interesting" and claim that you're just dying to see this "blockbuster hit of a film" (LOL!!!), I'm thinking that maybe, its just an issue of maturity. I wouldn't dare say its an issue of age, because one's age has nothin' to do with their maturity... Again, first of all, I think the whole WW/BM thing is wonderful, but to get the bigger issue, women are called "bitches" in this video, which is what I instantly had a problem with. In the household where I grew up, if you called a female that name, my head would've gotten knocked off......by mom AND dad! lol
No one said this film would be a blockbuster. it's a small independent film. not intended to be a wide release or blockbuster. i am glad some people on here are interested in seeing it. i think it's a highly entertaining film which will move people and also provoke discussion and even debate, which the best films often do. if you have a problem with the movie just because the word bitch is used, then that is quite close minded. first off, many women ARE "bitches". also, that's the way real people talk in the real world and there is MUCH worse language in the film (and it's mainly WOMEN who use the bitch word in this film, not men). If you cant handle simple profanity then maybe this movie isnt for you since there is much worse happening in our story, such as a woman being choked and beaten up by her ex-boyfriend, a woman being raped at knife point, and the N word is used quite often as well. Something tells me this film isnt for you.
I think it would be better had he had a voice over explaining the theme or main issue going on in film. The acting does not look at that great, but this is low budget. Typically its easier to keep the themes simple so audience can identify to main character. I will check it out when the movie comes out or if on dvd...
Wow, ya'll were pretty rough on this guy. Hate to see how ya'll would pull apart Spike Lee if he ever came on here circa Jungle Fever/She Gotta Have it.
Next year we will have a NYC premiere and hit film festivals where the film will screen on the big screen and critics will decide if its worth awards and i will show it to Universal Pictures' head writer (Will Smith's cousin) whom i spoke to on the phone earlier this year and was the one who encouraged me to even make a film...in hopes of getting a wide release. no matter what it will reach DVD and be distributed through Amazon and other outlets.
Good luck with it. Even if others here think they could do better, they aren't so they shouldn't rain on your parade.
The music is from the Inception trailer. No right now there is no extended or other promo. We are currently editing and sound mixing the final print of the film. Sometime early next year there will be a shorter and more concise trailer for the film which will focus mainly on scenes and dialogue from the film and the actual plot of the movie. This was more of a visual "sizzle reel" as well as a general statement on IR films in general.
Truth. Playboy where is the trailer from your film? Why do you have to take scenes from other films, videos and put them together in your trailer? Put your own work on the trailer. The whole point of a trailer is trying to highlight the movie so you can ge as many viewersas you can for your work. To me this appears to be like a project for freshman 101 Film course. If you're seriously working on a film to the point it is going to be released in couple of months then either you need to put a better trailer or need to work on your film.
The biggest problem with this 'teaser' is that it takes away from film. Which is clearly evident by our reactions to it. Perhaps taking some of the critisism on board and re-doing the teaser to highlight your own film more, would be a good idea? I certainly don't want to disrespect your film or film making skills. For me, you're just doing yourself a disservice with this particular teaser.
Even the glimpse I got of the movie parts, they looked good. I think what is even more intriguing for me is that you loosely based it on your life. Can't wait to see the final trailer. Very excited for you!
I agree with Sin...the point isn't to be disrespectful, but this teaser/trailer isn't doing you any favors at all. Reworking the trailer with highlights from the film itself and getting rid of the stuff that isn't in it would be a much better approach IMO.
Thanks for your input Sin Mari and Tamstrong but as I said, this teaser is about MORE than just my film. It is a statement on IR and IR films in general. Next year I will release a full trailer that will ONLY show footage from my film and it will show more of the scenes from my film. The movie is still being sound mixed. We could not show too much from the movie because it is not ready. This teaser was about IR films in general and gave a few hints to our film as far as what its gonna look like but nothing in this teaser talks about the story or our characters. We're saving that for the full trailer next year. The hype this teaser created did exactly what I expected it to.
Here's another teaser trailer that's shorter with more footage from my film and ONLY my film. https://vimeo.com/53135342
