I got the blue screen of death last week and it was only a RAM problem. If yours has the same problem, it should be cheap to fix.

 

I was out and took it, the tech guy at Staples wasn't busy so he asked if I wanted him to look at it. One of the fans went out and the hard drive is now toast. No info can be saved from i eithert. Think I will probably be replacing it. Merry Christmas me.

What brand was it? HPs are notorious for overheating and their fans (heatsinks) conking out.

I recommend www.tigerdirect.com for online computer shopping. Asus, Lenovo, and Samsung are good brands.

That's what I'm going to start doing from now on. Less focus on work and more focus on family. I reconnected with some cousins that I haven't seen since the mid 80s and it was great. I am definitely going to make more of an effort to stay connected from now on.

the only thing i'm looking forward to with this hurricane is maybe some time off from work, due to an access emergency being declared

once that happens, our command center goes active and contingency plans fall into place. if you miss work then, you will NOT be charged for calling out. the last time we had a hurricane in the area, I ended up stranded at work and had to sleep over and pull extra shifts (people called out ).

Our lame gov said up to 10 days. I don't eat tuna so I have no clue what to get in the house. My stove is gas, so I should be ok. I am inland so I won't flood. Waves in Cape may are now 9 ft. Have a flashlight and tons of batteries. Just heard a tsunaumi warning for the west coast.
