Oh, I know...I was over here thinking about how someone might get away, too. Especially since I have been the victim of assault before -not the same as someone who is trying to cook me in the oven, but the powerlessness of the entire situation, and wondering if you will survive...it makes you permanently wonder.

Bliss. You are a sharp cookie...what most women dont realize that most sex crimes last on adverage 8 to 16 hours...Its not about the violence its about the control of the victim...Most victim are held as a trophy...Most suspect take some from the victim to keep to remind them of the act.

    *shudders*

I understand too that some like to return to the scene of the crime as a background crowd 'spectator' whenever the body is found.

Your anylysis sounds logical, but on the other hand, I am wondering, because normally those people are socially excluded. They fear that someone could discover their secret or because they hate women in general; they are simply not able to communicate or act socially, so that one has a chance to identify them, to have a suspicious feeling. So, how is it possible that he can work as a police man? He has colleagues, he has to go through different psychologic tests, he has a partner. This shit is really scaring, that people can lead a normal life and then you realize it's Dr.Jekyll and Mr Hyde

This guy was able to function in normal society...His victim are not chosen at random but are targeted...He looks for one that he feels like he can physical control during the ambush attack of the victim or he lure them to an area the he is familier with. Thus it is his play ground and he has control and power over the victim. If he doent have a criminal past then it is important to do serious back ground check oh him..

The imagination that it's an enormous turn on to that sick mind that the media is talking about his phantasy is nearly not to bear. He got what he was searching for.
It's simply not understandable for me, how someone like him can sit between all the professionals and plan his insane dream

Christine, it is known to catch a criminal....you have to think like one.

Also Falcon explained to us it's about power. A cop is the ultimate power (in plain society).
Believe it or not, a few police, if they did not become officers, would be criminals. Some actually are, just behind their badge.

I can follow your thought, but it's definitly not acceptable.
If people take that as a fact, the whole executive begins to totter

In a world of billions of people you will come across these sick fucks.

If one can get off on seeing someone suffering then they lack any empathy and are indeed void of certain emotional traits that most folks possess.

Its why we can have the likes of Ted Bundy, BTK, Gary Ridgway, Jefferey Dahmer, etc. Some folks are just off key in their mindset.

In looking at the background stories of many of these guys they often tend to have a very deep hatred of women, some cases their mother was domineering over their father in the relationship, they were abandoned or they had some level of rejection by women that fueled their inadequacies.

It seems to follow a similar script of hatred of women and power being sought through revenge by lashing out.

I'm just happy he was caught before he carried out any of it.

My concern now is this: will they be able to convict him and if so, how long does he actually stay in jail?

Or if this is a mentally defect case, how long does he stay in a psychiatric hospital before he's back on the streets? :(

I was thinking the same thing. He only conspired to commit a crime, although I heard he's eligible for the death penalty if convicted.

What's scary is, who was his 'co-conspirator'?? Was it actually an undercover cop, or what he in contact with another sick MFer who was on the same page as he was??

One of the downsides of the interwebz I actually first heard discussed by Bill O'Reilly(!) and Armen Meiwes, the German cannibal killer who found his willing(!) victim on an internet chat board, is that global social networking allows people with the most perverse, maniacal fantasies access to imagery and other like minded individuals to make their fantasies reality.

Would be serial killers, murderers and kidnappers literally can form virtual communities on the interwbz in numbers by the thousands, whereas before there was an internet, most these sick fucks only 'met' each other in prison.

The underbelly of the internet is a scary place, I think many of us have dipped our toe in it just to look around.:smt099(I used to google image search crime+scene+murder+photos, but I had to cut that shit back when I saw a crime scene pic of Jeffrey Dahmer's bedroom and the gutted remains of one of his victims-omg!!:smt010).

IMO there are thousands of would be homicidal monsters who go from fantasy to reality simply because of the access/perversion multiplier factor of the internet.
