Thanks guys...it's my dad's side of the family and they've never been all that close. There was a reunion this summer that I didn't attend because of work but that's going to start changing from now on.

Also, thanks to the person who repped me anonymously. Of course, by being anon I can't rep you back like I want to...

Sorry for your loss, man. My mother's side of the family has annual reunions for the last 20 years or so. We did that for the very reason you are talking about. Like every family, we have lost a lot of people the last 20 years through old age, sickness, accidents and even suicide. The last time I saw my dear first cousin (we were the only boys on that side of the family) was at one of these reunions. A few years later, he was gone, having taken his own life.I think about him often, and I still grieve for him, but I have the comfort of having connected with him before he left us.

If you have to move heaven and earth to get to those reunions, please do so...you won't regret it.

Sounds like a great way to spend the holidays. As for the Aussie lady, I'm not surprised...that Aussie charm is hard to resist. ;)

Yep. It's even more special when you get to take some of that wonderfulness home with you. :smt023

    I agree with this post 100%. :D

They're all a bunch of sorry bastards who go out of their way to cover for scum of the earth pedophiles.

Sorry for your loss, Since. :smt056
