Fanny, when another adult has to repeatedly tell the same adults to stop with their antics, then there is something wrong. I am a mod because I believe that I can bring a fair and balanced outlook to situations when needed, to ignore people or not go into threads is just a ridiculous thing to suggest. Instead, how about when any mod says to knock something off, the person in question stops what it is that the mod is telling them to stop, it's rather simple, instead I continuing on with the behaviour. The mod position is not a paying one btw and I think it should have some sort of respect as well.

Can I also say that in the past I've hear out of mouths of certain posters that mods are not doing their jobs, complaints, whining and sulking that we don't police enough, favour people, only call out men by name etc, so it's obvious the people who complain about us also want us to police, but it would appear, only when it suits them.

Well I can't speak for everyone but for me personally this is an issue we've had on this forum since I started on here. When a male does something that is out of pocket everyone does a public flogging. "Oh so and so needs to grow up and show some more respect". When its a female then there's a "oh come on guys everyone needs to grow up"
When you do that its abusive and I know you nor many of the other posters see it that way because its easy not to see a man as victim as a opposed to a woman but it is what it is.
I don't want to name names because I doubt it would do any good, since when does anyone admit to being wrong about anything, but there are several female posters who love to poke fun and then call foul when its done to them. I personally wouldn't have a problem with the policing if it were done evenly.
I think a bigger problem is all the females more or less friends and are more likely to hold a grudge if called out opposed to the men. How do I know this?
Because as someone who is constantly at odds with posters there are few females I've had exchanges with that can let it go and leave it in the past opposed to men like Paniro, Swirl, BBW, and Petty who I've had nasty back and forths with but we've been able to just squash it and move on(sorry fellas didn't mean to name you I just didn't think you'd mind).
And here's the thing about antics on here they usually die out the problem is that some posters (I won't names on this one) simply can not stomach the idea that people don't think the way they do and keep threads going on for days. I'm guilty of this in terms of SA. I won't repeat my grievances but that's one individual I have a problem with as far as what they post.
I suggest you take some time off and relax boo.

Tbear! Like everyone, I share the same sentiments. Please don't go. This place can suck you in emotionally and the negativity can weigh heavily one one's self, but like it's been said, you bring balance and positivity. The sunshine doesn't come just out of your ass, but with your words (and more so offline). I hate when people act like being online is just dealing with strangers, but this is a community with various relationships (friends and otherwise), so I'd understand if you were to leave, but I hope you just take a breather and then return, cause we need you here.

I'm roaming the forum at work... not supposed to meet with any students today, just give feedback on papers and email them back.
Supervisor comes over saying there's a student that's wondering if she can sit with me to get help with something on her powerpoint... figured it wouldn't hurt since I already had the other work done for the morning. I had different tabs open and I opened the one with my email. Didn't bother closing the forum's tab because I didn't want to have to sign in again later .

The (BW) student and I ended up using the computer so I could show her examples... If looks could kill, I'd probably be dead. She made the point to be all, "Oh, can I do one with you while you're here?" and pulled out her laptop, where a picture of her and her husband (a BM) was her desktop picture.

Lesson learned:

We are launching our new website today and are having professional writers and photographers come in to the shop to do bios and stuff..

I have no idea what to say regarding my bio. I'm not geeky and M says girl techs are Tom boys. I don't fit that either.

Today is going to suck almost as much as yesterday. Yesterday was Mac Pro foolishness and water damaged LB foolishness.

Plus my baby is still in Oahu and he's not doing so hot. J wants me to take him but wants the physical custody to remain unchanged. Um...no.
And we haven't talked since the nite JJ was flown to Honolulu bc he came back at me basically telling me I was telling my son to do this on purpose. But I was actually on the phone with him everyday keeping him together as best I could while reaching out to the school to have them look into the terroristic threatening. I talked to the principle the day before JJ broke down and he told me that JJ was fine. And if anything was going on the father would handle it.
The father didn't even know until I told him.

And I had a dream my 18 year old was killed in a drunk driving accident on Oahu on her way to go see the baby.

Yeah. Today is gunna be all wrong.

Do you have a kindle or the kindle app?

 

I have a Kindle and I still prefer reading books as well. I absorb everything better when I can read it on a printed page as opposed to a screen. I don't get nearly as much use from my Kindle as I thought I would when I bought it.
