I knew someone would comment about the "professionals" word. I merely meant that they actually ref games, moreso than the people complaining about the reffing. LOL.

Anyway, I'll be happy to see the regular refs back too, though they aren't infallible. However, there will be A LOT of pressure on them to be infallible. It should be an interesting few weeks as they get back into the groove. :smt023

You mean like the coaches, players, NFL expert analysts and the actual regular refs complaining?
Guess they don't know better than these replacement refs who have never officiated a professional game in their life, let alone played in one.

The pressure will be interesting to see, I agree - it's one thing if they commit an egregious call every now and then, but at least with the reg refs back there will be no more 4 hr games, or being stumped by basic standard rules that even fans called more correctly.

I think though, everyone will bring their A-game. The adage you don't know what you have until its gone couldn't be more appreciated by the coaches, teams, and fans....and even the reg refs.

    Crybabies?

I don't think people realize that it isn't so much about the loss as it is about the loss of integrity in the game. To most fans football is a game. To those fortunate enough to play professionally, it is much more. It's their livelihood. IDK about you, but integrity is a vital component in my life. I expect and demand it of anything i'm involved in, and having spent a bulk of my life as part of some type of sporting team, I can relate hands down.

Pardon the vulgarity of my expression, but they practically unwillingly took it up the ass w/ no lube, w/ out willingly bending over. Should they have taken that with a smile and said thank you? C'mon. Not to say I am qualified to be officiating NFL games, but I am a member of TASO and officiate High school and sub varsity football games. Quite frankly, there is a reason the country is clowning the events culminating in the ending of that game.

As a Packer fan, i'll tell you that the roughing the passer call was legit - you can't strike a QB below the knees or on the head. But the DPI which should have gone against rice, the missed OPI against Tate, and the game winning TD allowed by the lack of OPI by Tate were inexcusable. Sure people make mistakes, but you can't blow 3 major calls on a game deciding drive!

As far as the Packers playing badly, I think that is funny as they are actually playing pretty well. The offense simply isn't putting up 30 points a game as people expect. That will change.

The D is currently playing at a high level, statistically floating around top 5 in the league high. They are generating a good pass rush, and getting all of the necessary stops. When the offense finally catches rhythm, it's going down in Packer Nation.

And lastly in regards to your statement about the sacks, I took some good from that. First of all, they all occured in the first half. After the proper adjustments were made in the second half, GB didn't concede another the rest of the way. Lastly, A team that surrenders 8 sacks in a half that still almost rides out w/ victory has displayed a trait associated w/ championship caliber teams - resilience.

Bookworm, it's been a minute since I last posted, but my post is out of love and the love of my team. But there is no way I was going to allow a Bears fan to get away w/ calling the Pack crybabies, especially when Jay Cutler is your leader! Haha ;)

Hello everyone, I see there have been a few lovely additions to the forum since I was last here..is Mama still around?

    Bal-23, Clev-16.

wasn't pretty, but we got the win. The Browns were just a hail-mary away from tying it up. We gotta' quit with the bonehead penalties, too...

the defense looks.......well, sluggish. Slow. We still didn't have much of a passrush tonight.

we gotta' get the Defense together, or otherwise, a good team is gonna' smack us dead in the mouth!!

Yeah, Eagles earned it. With three ? penalty calls in the last drive of the game to keep it alive and two attempts to kick a g/w f/g..it was a real nail-biter.

They got a standing O when they took the field last night.
Of course they were booed with the 2 ? calls at the end....and rightly so.

Brian Dawkins' No. 20 jersey retired by Philadelphia Eagles

Retired NFL star Brian Dawkins treated Philadelphia fans to his unique entrance one last time before
the Eagles' 19-17 victory over the New York Giants

It was incredible. The stadium was darkened and we were treated to a video highlight montage of his performances, hits, interceptions and emotional team pep-talks, while a laser show of his name, jersey # and token expressions that electrified all the fans.
