The difference is that Democrats keep their fringe on the fringe. Republicans keep their fringe front and center, then call it the Tea Party.

This is a few months old but take a gander at the Texas Republican Party Platform if you don't believe me: http://www.forbes.com/sites/johntha...activity&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=20120701

Whether you want to admit it or not, Democrats don't do this kind of shit.

If you're comparing crazy Democrats to crazy Republicans you're not just comparing apples to oranges, you're comparing apples to orange groves.

Yes, he's sounding EXACTLY like an 1860's Democrat! This is why the parties are incestuously in bed with each and have always been - they all come from the same bloodline.

Completely agree. Republican politicians that are on the lunatic fringe are often way more obscene and ludicrous than lunatic Democratic politicians.

Same thing (@ orange groves) with the attempt to align Christian fanaticism with Islamic fanatics...whole other ball game with the latter.

I'm usually very culturally aware and tolerant, but I would down a few liters of beverage and take a nice piss on that followed by a complimentary dump and wipe for good measure.

Its what happens when they can't control the world around them and have it the way they desire with fervent desperation.

Someone ought to tell them to just live life because they will depart this Earth one day and none of this shit will matter.

Remember George Wallace, Governor of Alabama, "Segregation Now and Segration Forever"

In latter life as his mortality faced him, he all of a sudden recanted his past bigotry and asked for forgiveness for his actions.

lol Since1980, the Tea Party is harmless.

In 2001, she called Richard Riordan, L.A. mayor, a "plantation owner". During the L.A. riots in 1992, Waters described the violence as a "spontaneous reaction to injustice". She held "economic, social, cultural, and political" factors responsible and that the L.A. riots should rightly be called a "rebellion" or "insurrection." [24]
Waters co-sponsored Rep. John Conyers' bill calling for reparations for slavery to be paid to black Americans

Plus she blamed the crack epidemic on the CIA lol:smt043]
Oh and she is corrupt as fuck too.

Occupy is harmless. Seriously. They are of no consequence to Democrats. That's a false equivalence. Nice try, though.

Several militia groups identify as Tea Party members. Those guys are NOT harmless. They're arming themselves for the 2nd American Revolution, or an overthrow of the government.

That's the scary party. The right wing fringe is getting to be a bigger and bigger part of the Republican party. Shit like this is why I can't vote for a Republican in the South. This platform wasn't put forth my a talk radio host, or an internet blogger...this is the official platform of the state Republican party. They literally want to ban critical thinking!

As much as I would like to be a swing voter or to be able to take both parties seriously, I can't do that with the modern-day GOP. I simply cannot.

How about when they form a conspiracy to attempt to assassinate the President? Kinda makes rioting seem small by comparison if you as me...

And I will say in fairness that he may not actually be a registered Republican. But something tells me this guy self-identifies as conservative.

A LOT of people said and felt the same way about the whole Rodney King/LA PD trail that sparked the riots. The riots themselves were indeed overboard and senseless reaction to that verdict, but the sentiment about that verdict was not. So still not seeing the craziness and ignorance on the same level as compared to the two, repeat TWO Republicans mentioned so far in this thread.

lol you read too much Huffingtonpost and porbably watch too much MSNBC

The Tea Party IS harmless. They are just a bunch of bored, white retirees that have nothing else better to do. Have you seen their gatherings? Its all old people with signs and tea party outfits. Nothing dangerous about that at all.

Meanwhile, the Occupy folks are violent and clash with police ALL THE TIME. And dont forgot about other left wing anarchist groups that side with the left as well.

These probably won't fly with you because they aren't conservative enough. But trust me I AM working on it.

To elect a pothead, ex-junkie deadbeat dad Republican who believes he’s the Messiah?

In Hoke County divorce records, his wife said in 1995 that D’Annunzio had claimed to be the Messiah, had traveled to New Jersey to raise his stepfather from the dead, believed God would drop a 1,000-mile high pyramid as the New Jerusalem on Greenland and found the Ark of the Covenant in Arizona. A doctor’s evaluation the following month said D’Annunzio used marijuana almost daily, had been living with another woman for several months, had once been in drug treatment for heroin dependence and was jailed a couple times as a teenager.

Oh...yeah...nothing dangerous about that type of delusion right there. Most crazy people would be commited and then evaluated. But this upstanding teaparty wanna be ran for fucking office. And who would vote for him? All the other harmless old retired SS beneficiaries in tea party outfits with their tired ass spelling.

    More? Sure. Why not?

Michele Bachmann – Queen of Crazy
Michele Bachmann thinks natural disasters are a warning sign from God about government spending – but she claims there “isn’t even one study” that carbon pollution is dangerous. Bachmann implied that Democrats could be the cause of the swine flu, and said the HPV vaccine causes mental retardation, while repeatedly voting to restrict access to birth control and to deny women life-saving medical care. And she recently instigated an anti-Muslim witch hunt on Capitol Hill that threatens to take Congress back to the McCarthy era.

Bachmann has worked to put Medicare and Medicaid on the chopping block, but she and her husband operate a “Christian counseling clinic” which has received more than $137,000 in federal Medicaid funds while practicing controversial and medically-unsound ex-gay conversion therapy. And of course, she says that “[gay marriage] is probably the biggest issue that will impact our state and our nation, in the last, at least, thirty years. I am not understating that.”

    Allen West – Beyond Crazy
This Tea Party Caucus member said that "Goebbels would be proud of the Democratic propaganda machine," that fellow Representative Keith Ellison — one of two Muslim representatives — represents the antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established," and that anyone with an Obama 2012 bumper sticker is "a threat to the gene pool." He said emergency rooms should refuse care to illegal immigrants. His own constituents don't fare any better: West voted for the Ryan budget which would eliminate Medicare preventative care benefits for nearly 20% of the residents in his South Florida District — more than 125,000 seniors. West is so out of touch he took to Facebook to whine about high gas prices - despite driving a hummer -- and with no apparent sense of irony claims that the Obama administration's new no-cost birth control regulations amount to government "infiltration into every realm of our personal life."

Dan Lungren – California's Rick Santorum
For more than 30 years, Dan Lungren has stood for Tea Party extremism and radical assaults on equality. When the Obama Administration refused to defend the Defense of Marriage Act, Dan Lungren was happy to sink $1.5 million of our tax dollars into a contract with a former Bush Administration official to uphold this discriminatory law. But denying equal rights to lesbian and gay couples is about the only thing Lungren wants to fund. He voted for the Ryan budget to slash social services and end Medicare as we know it. He voted to defund Planned Parenthood, cut Pell Grants for one third of University of California undergraduates, cut $125 million from K-12 education in California, and eliminate Headstart funding for 14,000 low income children in his district. His position on women's issues are even more extreme: Lungren has sponsored legislation that would have outlawed abortion even in cases of rape and incest, and is so anti-woman that he called the Obama Administration's new regulations on no-cost birth control an "assault" on the First Amendment.

And that's just the first three. I know tony will be along shortly with his CP picture and you wont bother to read this...so...
