Ok... Is this person on drugs? They can't seem to make up their mind about whether it's a MacBook or a MacBook pro. It's a MBP for what it's worth. You will probably have to change the RAM chips. Macs dont like unequal amounts of RAM in their slots. Unless the 3GB mem is a sign of what this person is smoking. Last, and MOST importantly, I'd be distrusting of the MLB. Nvidia graphics chips are notorious for causing GPU issues and they aren't cheap to replace. Reflowed can start @ 6 and it's no promise your GPU won't fail. It's a costly and stupid repair especially for such an old computer.

Which one did u go with? U know on anything less than a 2009 ish you can't upgrade past 10.7.2 or there abouts. Keep that in mind. Also tHe MBP that have the airport cards in the clamshell tend to go bad..it works as a secondary heat sink like and disapates the accumulated heat. In new models they sit above the optical drive. Easier and less frequent repair. Anything can go wrong tho.

I've got both a mac pc and laptop(even though its not working right now) and a regular dell pc and an asus and gateway laptop. The macs are both faster more user friendly and less prone to viruses. The windows based tech is much cheaper and easier to replace and you aren't married to only apple products which I fucking hate.
ok I forgot to point out the exception! They dumb down so much to give to the average folk at the same time increasing the price. If you know better, you buy a computer at a cheaper price with more power and memory.
And remember the damn viruses and crashing. I've had my mac mini for 6 damn years and haven't had to a damn thing to it. My only regret is I got with only 60 gigs of memory and 512mb ram
so that's why. It depends on the processor for speed. You might have gotten a lousy one. The only reason why they are less prone is due to the fact that they are not popular. Windows is the flavor of the day. I will admit it is probably easier to teach someone a mac then windows but you don't do someone a favor with a monopoly on your stuff.
Like I said that's their only major drawback I can't stand fucking itunes and I'll Office over Iworks any day of the week. Its really meant for artists but like I said you can't beat how user friendly it is and more importantly no viruses or crashing
I work on another OS for my good stuff. Windows still has advantages. I have never reformatted my system because of a windows 7 issue either though I suspect they have stolen stuff from open source OS's that i use. Windows provides more freedom to select from different companies. Apple doesn't do that too much. Although I push for open source, they provide even more freedom to people.
