LOL, market it as gritty, urban, industrial experience.

I've seen a few of those suckers but usually they are on the tracks underground, huge mofos. :D

That looks like a pet rat to me - for many reasons.

I used to travel w my pet rat in the subway, I had him under my jacket and he would never leave, but he would peak up over the collar and that would freak people out. LOL.

Its common to keep the pet rats with you under your clothes and they usually use the collar opening to get in and out. The poor rat just seems desperate and scared and tried to get under a sweater or something to get away. He may have fallen out of someones jacket - or someone pulled a prank.

I don't know which is funnier,,,, the male news reporters face or the male screaming in the background of the news room...

You know you could be right, FG, the reporters did remark the rat looked pretty clean.

Normally the subway one's are dirty, with patchy hair and you would be unlikely to see them in the train since their bread is buttered in the tunnels.

Yeah they said in the video he looked more as a pet than wild animal on the loose.

Key word : Pet. I doubt any pet rat would bite it's owner unless said owner attempted or was perceived as doing it harm.

Yep, very true. A pet rat does not bite, why would they, they are tame.
Rats are very intelligent and pet rats are very loyal, they know its owner just like any other pet. I have never seen a pet rat bite a human.

Interesting, I did not know this, sort of thought of them as wild animals like snakes.

Duh. No kept animal is going to bite its keeper because the keeper is providing food, shelter, comfort, and company. Basic animal instincts that even humans live by. Give a snake a mouse and it is not going to bite you because it knows you are the provider of the mouse. It wants the mouse, not you.

I thought the rat looked a bit tame and was looking for a way out. Poor thing. Personally I am not that afraid of rodents. I had a pet ferret for about 5 years - he was really sweet and played with my cat since she was a kitten - they learned to play together and did not hurt each other. He was grown and she was a baby - so when they were both grown, she did not hurt him although she was bigger than him. It was sweet to see the interspecies play...the understanding. Personally I think mice are very cute and intelligent creatures. Rats also (although not as cute as mice - I hate the testicles on male rats)... I have sat and watched a mouse come and get cat food from my cat's bowl, and made sounds to him, and watched him get freaked out and go back to his hole - it was funny. I thought he was cute. If I could have tamed him, I would have.

Reaching here, Zookeepers get their asses handed to them often enough by 500 pound lions.:smt019
