    GREAT POST!

And the sad thing is, a lot of them DO want democracy. Particularly the younger generation. They want to just live their lives in peace, live free from tyranny by sadistic maniacs, and become a part of the Western world instead of against it.

@ your driving comment...hell they can't even sing or dance in Afghanistan :(
(I always thank GOD's grace that as a female, I was born in the Western world)

The same Taliban who blow up schools with school children in them to stop girls from being taught.

This 'party-crashing' illustrates the extremeness of their sadism...."was not clear if they had been shot first"
Ok, so you shoot them and then go through the effort of decapitating 17 heads? Enjoy it much?
Get off on it much? The Taliban is pure blood-thirsty.

    Shit is absolutely crazy.

Its a way of life and mentality that I can never grasp.

You really have to be driven by intolerant religious dogma and blood thirstiness to cut off someone's head for dancing at a mixed gendered party or blowing up little girls for getting an education.

I certainly welcome when they hunt down the extremists to all corners of the Earth, like they did Bin Laden, irrespective of the sensitivities of Pakistan being butt-hurt when he was just chilling in one of their cities like it was no big deal.

Caught a couple of them in Yemen as well.

These fuckers are convinced that even in death they will get virgins in the afterlife, no matter what acts they have perpetrated in life.

    Twisted indeed.

Insanity. And those fuckers are taking cell phone pics of the diplomat's murdered corpse and uploading them on the interwebz????

We better find out who made that 'movie'. Even the cast says they were lied to and misled by the producer of the film. They stated the dialogue was changed several times throughout to hide the true intent behind the movie.
Also I heard tonight the offensive comments about Islam were dubbed into the film later in Arabic for consumption in the ME.

It's doubly sad because this violence doesn't represent ALL the people in Libya and Egypt. It's reminiscent of the Reichstag burning by Hitler's Nazi party to incite the German parliament to give him dictatorial powers, suspend the press and German civil rights.

That movie was made either as a deliberate provocation or rationalization for violence in the ME.

There are reports the attack in Libya was an organized commando style raid and not an overflow of violence from random protesters.

Definitely looking more and more sketchy about what was really going on with the video being made and the embassy deaths.

Seems no one knows who is who and what is what in this set of events that transpired.

You figure that in the Middle East given the tensions and anti-US sentiments that embassies would be fortresses, where some yobs and hooligans just couldn't scale a wall.

There is a lot of questions that remain to be answered about what went down at the embassy and who truly made that "so called film"

I heard there was an 'apology announcement" towards Islam made by our Government a few hrs before the storming of the Embassies. Why is our Govt 'officially apologizing on Sept 11th for a crappy movie made in July?

Something rotten is going on here...

The US government didn't make an apology. Someone from the embassy put out a statement in an attempt to quell possible over the top violence from occurring from protest that kicked off due to the "film". Clearly it had no impact as we see what happen a few hours later at the embassy.

Are you listening to the Romney version of events that are currently being condemned by chance? Because that's the statement he put out before all facts about the situation were known and then double downed on it after facts came out. He's the one claiming it was "the Obama Administration" that made the statement apologizing and sympathizing with the protesters.

For all the conservatives on this board, the embassy in Egypt put out a public statement as it became aware of the crowds gathering outside their gates last night. In an effort to calm down the growing protest, an embassy employee issued a public statement referencing the movie that was mentioned as the cause behind the riots, stating....,

"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims -- as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others."

Why did the Cairo embassy issue such a statement?? To CHILL THOSE CRAZY MOTHERFUCKERS OUT. It's similar to being in a bar and two dudes decide they're going to kick your ass...for no reason. Most people will try to talk their way out of an ass kicking, even if they did nothing to deserve it.

This statement was made as the mobs were forming BEFORE they stormed the embassies. This statement issued by a Cairo embassy employee is the one Romney was responding to, mistakenly believing it came from the Oval Office.:smt101

Instead of acknowledging his mistake, Romney's team chose to double down and argued that since any U.S. embassy is a representative of the U.S. government, any statement issued by said embassy is implicitly a statement made by the POTUS.

This is pure idiocy and why Romney is being vilified by members of his own party.

It's disgraceful what Romney is doing, attempting to score political points from an international tragedy. And it's even worse that he thinks he can lie his way out of deliberately misleading the American people about the Cairo embassy missive.

Romney is not ready for prime time.

You can be rich as all hell and still not have the instincts, leadership or judgement to think quickly on your feet.:smt012

Jordan it was on a radio interview

No, I hadn't heard Romney's stance at that time and didn't get it from him. I heard it on the radio from an interviewee discussing the ACTUAL statement.

It was an official statement from our U.S Embassy, which Secretary of State Clinton oversees. They are our Government. Nothing is released on behalf of our US Embassies that doesn't come from our US Government.

It looks like an apology to me...BEFORE

Statement From the U.S. Embassy in Cairo

    ^^^^
Tuesday, 6 a.m., before the attack in Benghazi (all times Eastern)

The embassy released this statement, apparently referring to a provocative anti-Islam video, in an effort to cool tensions in the area. The statement came before protests on the American embassy in Cairo and the attack on the consulate in Benghazi.

^^^ Great before/after timeline, including deleted tweets by the US Embassy in Cairo.

Bliss do you actually believe among the dozens of U.S. consulates around the globe, that EVERY STATEMENT has to be cleared by the State department??

The Cairo statement was issued Cairo embassy staffer as the mobs were forming. Otherwise why issue an 'official' statement on 9/11 about a movie you yourself said came out in June/July??

What happened I'll assume is that the Head Consul at the Egyptian embassy was in communication with his contacts in the city and asked why are there mobs forming outside the U.S. embassy?? He was then told the crowds were enraged because of a film that slandered Muslims had been seen on the Internet.

The next step was to issue an official statement to quiet the street protests.
There really is no spin behind that statement, other than it was a DIPLOMATIC effort to calm down a hate filled mob.

To think this statement was crafted by Hilary Clinton or the WH is ridiculous.

And the fact that this statement was made BEFORE the attacks, not after, eliminates the argument this was an attempt at appeasing radical islamists after they'd attacked our embassies.

    ^^^ VVVV

No man, follow the time-line. The protests in Cairo didn't even begin until many hrs later, followed by the attack in Libya. The protesters were merely a diversion for a planned attack. So again, what's up with the statement at 6am EST?? Very odd.

Also...it occurred to me...maybe Canada kicking out Tehran's Embassy and shutting up shop in Iran last month, they knew something was and is still about to go down?

Because ...there are naval ships circling Libya as we speak. Git em, Obama.

I'm not saying Hilary crafted it. But EVERYTHING is run by the State Department, are you kidding me?
And something as inflammatory as that??

So in a matter of hours, you're telling me an orchestrated assault on the LIBYAN Embassy was in full effect because of some protesters forming in Cairo? Don't, lol.

And Hillary issued ANOTHER statement after the attack, also...so I'm not getting what "appeasement proof" you are on about.

Bliss, there were attacks on two embassies, one in Cairo and the other in Benghazi, Libya.

Whether or not the attacks were coordinated, the Embassy officials didn't know this and I doubt were fully aware what was happening between the two cities until much later.

The statement initially released from the Cairo Embassy was in response to the crowds gathering outside that particular compound in Egypt.

There was no statement from the Libyan consulate.
People are somehow associating the Cairo embassy statement with the attack in Benghazi, they aren't related.

On Sept. 11, both embassies were surrounded by protestors and attacked. Four diplomatic officials were killed in Libya, none in Egypt.

The statement issued by the Cairo embassy was BEFORE that embassy was attacked, in an effort to quiet the mobs.

Mitt Romney is the one who assumed that official statement came from Obama and the WH AFTER the attacks, and were another example of appeasement and apology on the part of the POTUS.

This is the young ambassador himself that they are dragging.... already deceased with his eyes still open.....the blood streaming from his nose suggest a close proximity explosive detonation shock ripple thur his body......fanatic Muslims don't respect death and dying....they are frenzied and heartless like a pack of hyenas..........
Normal people would be subdued with grief and horror around a corpse, but to them, it is a trophy to parade in the streets.....
