Are you kidding???????????? Good gods. There IS NO DEBATE. Rape is rape, regardless of the relationship of the rapist to the victim. It's illegal, and just plain wrong. End of fucking story. Geezuz.

BB, sorry. Tried to save your thread - I do believe its rape when a husband forces himself on his wife, but I get why you asked the question. (I Corinthians 7:4, for instance) I don't think you meant to be disgusting.

To answer the question: Hell yes. In every aspect of the word. No means no.

I guess debating legalities of universally accepted wrongs are ok if you can back them with antiquated scripture.

Of course, you use to be able to sell your daughters to the lowest bidder in exchange for cows.

    Evolution.

    It just happens.

    If you let it.

There is no scripture in the Bible that condones rape.

    *ahem*

    I should certainly hope not.

And I was really pointing out the flawed notion of even beginning to "debate" the legalities of rape.

I wonder if people who are willing to do so will be the very same who vote for Ryan?

This seems to be a personal "debate" favorite among him and his friends.

That may have been your point, but there are those who would take that particular statement to mean that there is scripture that backs that crap up.

Just because imbeciles like Ryan and his "friends" claim to be godly people and try to twist scripture to fit their agendas, it isn't fair to assume that all who consider themselves Christians have the same jacked up mentality.

As far as rape goes, there's nothing to debate...there is no circumstance and no consequence that makes rape anything other rape.

The Webmaster would have to do that. You can always report it and ask him about removing it.

And there are those that when scripture IS quoted in such a topic as this..that somehow it is being used as a means to say..
Perhaps in some cases rape of a wife by her husband is ok.

    It can go both ways.

And this (if I'm understanding BB's intentions), was what the purpose of the thread was: there are those who would take something like scripture and twist it to suit their purpose. Or the traditional marriage vows, as he mentioned. Some have the attitude that Stizzy joked about. The cops in the episode he watched were confused as to whether a guy forcing himself on his wife was rape. All who weighed in here agree that a man can rape his wife. But there are those who would disagree. I think he just wanted to see if there was anyone here who spoke from that side of the fence.

And we really need to discuss that type of asshattery why?

And we need to discuss ANY of the asshattery on here why????

I never saw this post from stizzy but that is scary that police officers are no more well trained in what is legal and what isn't. Wow. I hope their superiors saw that episode so they can take them off the streets and get them trained. :(

    Because there's asshattery...

    And then there's this.

Why not start a thread on the legalities of child abuse?
I'm sure someone somewhere can throw scripture every which way from the middle of Sunday.

    Pun intended.
