This is a little misleading. MSNBC only showed the main speeches. They didn't purposely cut minority speeches. Had the RNC scheduled minority speakers in prime spots, MSNBC would have shown them. Don't believe the hype, people.
If anything I find it more insulting how the Republican Party tries to parade every token minority in front of the cameras and at their convention as if that changes the fact that their party is 89% White, only 2% of their delegates were even Black, and pretty much every demographic (Black, Latino, Asian, Native American, Women, Gays, etc) predominantly votes Democratic. The only demographic group the Republican Party can rely on are Whites. And they especially rely on angry racially aggrieved whites. Which is why you hear so much talk about welfare coming from that side lately. Who do you think they're catering to? Hell even Lindsay Graham outright said it, "The demographics race we’re losing badly. We’re not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term." Between the racism, misogyny, Islamaphobia, and homophobia the Republican Party is not fooling anyone, except maybe themselves and the few token minorities who are actually deluded enough to support them. I remember the 08 Democratic and Republican National Conventions. The difference in diversity was quite apparent. One looked like a United Nations summit and the other looked like Bingo Night at a Florida retirement home. Mitt Romney is most likely going to lose the race due to Demographics alone. And it's especially apparent in the voter suppression tactics happening nationwide under the guise of "rooting out voter fraud" to try to keep as many minorities from the polls as possible. From ridiculous Voter ID laws to trying to get rid of early voting. When you see things like this: You know they have no leg to stand on. When one of your major platforms to winning elections is trying to keep as many people from the polls as you can, that alone should tell you the Republican party has nothing legitimate to offer. Keep in mind Republicans didn't give two shits about "Voter Fraud" until the Democrats kicked their asses in the 06 and 08 election cycle. They certainly never cared enough to do anything about it, let alone make it a party platform. But suddenly you have record minority turnout, in large part due to early voting. Then all of the sudden it was a hot button issue for the right. Never mind the fact that there are virtually no cases of voter fraud that go on in this country. None proven anyway. And even Republicans can't offer a shred of evidence to the contrary outside of made up conspiracy theories that their supporters are more than willing to blindly believe without question. And you know good and well if Voter Fraud worked in favor of the GOP, they'd be all for early voting, open polls, and find someway to rail against Obama for "Trying to take away our constitutional right to vote!!". But at the end of the day they'll still lose. At the rate Romney is going he'd have to win a larger base of White support than Ronald Reagen did and that's not happening. Federal judges are slapping down Republican Voter suppression tactics in Florida, Texas, and more states will follow. The GOP has all but given up on Pennsylvania, Ohio, and without the voter suppression tactics of Rick Scott in Florida they're most likely going to lose that state too. It's so bad for them they're actually hoping to get Wisconsin which also isn't going to happen. The funny thing is, with the country in the state it's in, Obama really shouldn't have a chance of being re-elected. But the Republican Party, the Tea Party, and the conservative movement in general has been so incompetent, extremist, and self-destructive and alienated so many people they've pretty much defeated themselves. They've managed to piss off and alienate pretty much every demographic to the point that now they're just left with one. Ironically the only one whose population is decreasing and will eventually be outnumbered by minorities.
You feel big making fun of an 82 year old man? lol so pathetic FTR, I didnt think Clint should of even talked. He is too old and senile and it showed a little bit. However he was pretty funny in some parts of his speech. ANd there is diversity within the RNC
He's Dirty Harry. He can spare a few moments of being poked fun of, especially with that sort of display. P.S. He's not senile.
You roast someone because he is poking fun at an 82 year old man yet YOU call him senile? Are you for real? Smh.
Clint Eastwood said his imaginary Obama told Romney to go 'fuck himself'. That's absurd. I was very disappointed in Mr. Eastwood on many levels with that performance.
That could very be the case. He's waiting for Dec. 21, 2012 to shed his human skin and expose himself for he really is: The Epoch of Divinity.
Should tell you something about bias on the other side of the coin. Be a critical thinker and "THINK" for yourself. Need "NO MO plantation masters" from the left or the right.
