Are you kidding? What did she actually do? She was one person having sex with 5 dudes. She wasn't over powering anyone or coercing them through grades or some other type of manipulation. It wasn't criminal. Was she in breech of her ethical obligation? Yes. So fire her, fine her, and call it day. They were adults so I really can't say anything about it. But I have a problem with those that say they would have NO problem with a female teacher cavorting with their young sons. Even in this case its still a violation.

 

I understand what you're getting at, but the way you're going about doing this, you're administering a Draconian perspective on the whole debacle. You're correct that she did dishonor her position as teacher, as well as a wife and mother. However, I would still argue that the punishment doesn't fit the crime whatsoever. For one thing, the students are 18 years of age, and even if they are not of age (minimum 16), they still hold some grounds regarding experiencing life and are capable of differentiating between right from wrong.

They were fully aware of what they were taking advantage of, and so did the teacher. If there is anything that is a crime, it's her breaking her vow of being in a committed marriage, but that's a personal thing. If anything, sentencing her to five years and fining her is far too excessive beyond reproach. If anything, barring her from teaching would probably be the best course of action and her personal guilt of getting caught would be best served in the end.

Maybe throwing her in jail for 5 years is excessive (she should do some time, as they were 18 and not like 13), but no matter the age, she's still an authority figure over them. And she abused that authority whether it looks that way or not.

Teachers cannot screw their students, no matter the student's age. If she wanted a gang bang, she should have waited until after they graduated.
