actually you do just like you reserve the right to decide who administers your healthcare in a clinical setting
No, that choice belongs to the store owner, if the racist loser wants only White folks to bag his groceries he can open his own store.
I don't think so. That is like Christian Science who withold medical treatment from their kids who say have diabetes etc. Religion doesn't give you the right to discriminate or commit crimes with excuse.
or he can get in the line with a white bagger or he could just bag his own not saying it's right or PC, but that's america
If the bagger was a over expressed religious person with "Jesus Christ forever" on his shirt and the customer was an Atheist, would he be wrong for wanting a different bagger?
As soon as this loser let it be known he didn't want certain people to bag his groceries because they were 'negroidal', the store had no obligation to comply with this customer's racist demands. If they had, IMO the grocery store would have been guilty of violating federal EEOC guidelines. No one has the authority or right to demand that a private establishment racially discriminate among its employees to satisfy the wishes of a bigot customer.
and most importantly freedom of choice if a store discriminates against employees, that's one thing but a customer who wants a a good from a certain person is another his tactics were pretty shitty, but as a paying customer you want what you want. he just went about it like a brick through a window. he could have just said he preferred another person whom he was more familiar with. he didn't have to get all racial on a mothafucka but you can't expect common sense and savvy from an idiot
First of all, I doubt you're allowed to wear an overly religious shirt at work in a grocery store. Secondly, a grocery bagger wearing a Jesus tee shirt doesn't violate an atheist's freedom from religion. He's BAGGING FUCKING GROCERIES. Like I said, this guy is straight mental.
so..you walk into a store and a shady ass white nationalist with subtle tattoos or paraphernalia that you recognize, is bagging your groceries what do you do? do you request another bagger, bag your own shit, or just let Von Himmel continue to bag your stuff if you request another bagger because he offends you, you are discriminating against his equal employment opportunity
1st You stated earlier it was a private establishment, so the shirt could very well be worn. 2nd What did the customer violate?
And that's my point. True, he's a dick, and like you stated, went about it wrong, but he has rights. The race card trumps all.
Where I live the grocery store employees wear a store issued shirt. THey don't roll into work wearing whatever. You can't ask a cashier or manager to racially discriminate against his employees because you the customer are racist. I agree with pettyofficer, the guy should have been more discreet and asked for a different bagger, he didn't have to give an explanation as to why. When he revealed his reason was strictly racially motivated, the grocery store had no obligation to comply with his request.
http://health.usnews.com/health-new...es/2010/07/26/want-a-certain-doctor-in-the-er this article addresses requests based on race, gender, religion etc it does happen and women sometimes do request other women to treat them, for obvious reasons how do you address that and where's the uproar?
that shit had me rollin' when I stocked shelves overnight at the grocery (yeah i worked about 10 different jobs in my short life), we rolled up in whatever you felt like as long as you stocked your aisles, you were good when i look back on it, that was a butter ass job. the pay wasn't great, but I think for a part time gig and extra burn money, you can't go wrong if they need stockers. you worked overnight, so no one was there except the squad and loud music.
Doctors apparently don't mind accommodating patients who request to be seen by a doctor of a specific ethnic/racial/gender background, within reason. But notice how there was no mention about what is done for patients who say they want for instance a White doctor to see them because they believe ALL minority doctors are incompetent. Hospitals are different, I don't think they can ethically deny service even if the patient is a White supremacist.
