The First Lady, also a spokesperson for healthy eating, had a few words with teen gold medalist Gabby Douglass for celebrating her win with fast food! Tsk tsk Gabby... The endearing moment was seen on Jay Leno last night as Michelle made her third appearance on the show. When asked how she celebrated her gold medal, the 16-year-old told Leno she "splurg[ed] on a McDonald's Egg Mcmuffin." Mrs. Obama was quick to jump in on a response when she jokingly teased Douglas and said, "Yea, Gabby, don't encourage that! But I'm sure it was on a whole wheat muffin." Too cute!! It's a cute exchange. Mrs.Obama cares about our health, but can still joke. Love it. (although an EMM isn't so bad) I really appreciate what our First Lady is trying to doing for us fellow Americans. Gabby probably has an endorsement deal already lined up with MD's if she mentioned it full like that.
I can't lie, for all my triathlon nonsense, nothing satisfies like a Big Mac/Quarter Pounder and fries.
I can't remember where I read it but most of the athletes that were done said the first thing on their list was to eat all the "banned while training" foods. I am sure Mrs Obama was totally kidding though.
She was, and when you haven't had some of these forbidden foods for 2 years or so, I'd imagine that it's very hard not to indulge a bit afterward. Burger, fries, pizza and ice cream are the first things that come to mind.
I would have had all those in one sitting.......then come back for more. She showed restraint to just choose a breakfast McMuffin.
They definitely earned their mcdonalds and everything else they haven't eaten for the sake of training themselves for the olympics! I agree, Mrs. Obama's plug was a good one to make. I love her campagne to teach our children (our world really) to make healthier food choices. As for mcdonalds...I have to stay away from that...getting too old for it. Hurts my tummy lol...
I'll have to play the role of this familiar face and have you undergo moments of temptation. Muahahahahah. Tell me...do you recognize this figure?
JFC, you can eat all of that in one sitting?!?! Say hello to diabetes for me.:smt043 I'm a health nut so I have pretty much banned fast food from my diet. I do still eat at Jimmy Johns every now and then though.
I hardly eat fast food anymore mainly because I've been more stingy lately. But really, all those ridiculous scares on banning fast food from your diet or eating routine is just stupid. All that is all based on paranoia and over-exaggerated data. Plus, I keep myself fit. I have a very unlikely chance of getting diabetes. http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fitness/food/what-can-i-eat/eating-out/the-fast-food-challenge.html
