Fiscally I get. Socially? Are you kidding? Any black person who considers themselves a social conservative is either ignorant or dumb. Social conservatism has never lead to anything good for black people in this country.
No lie there. But we're talking about those who are more church going. They tend to be against gay rights, but less prickly on abortion (unless you're a die-hard Catholic). The main reason why many blacks who identify themselves as conservative, vote Democrat is because of one party which is closely associated with the Civil Rights Movement. And I do agree, social conservatism never lead to anything but a retrogressive reinforcement of bigoted behaviors.
I think Ryan is a good pick. He's a smart guy and very aggressive. Romney is smart to use his own budget proposal to run on. His proposal is more moderate, but I think could get unemployment numbers down to 7% after his first term.
Judging from the videos...a bunch of whack job pseudo-intellectuals trying to justify some poor conspiracy theories and half-assed conservative thoughts. Jonathan Krohn's looking at these children and thinking, "Was I this stupid?" And if anyone doesn't know...Krohn was a self-identified conservative who basically turned more into a leftist leaning individual after seeing modern conservatism being destroyed by the paranoid far-right. He's starting college in NYU this year with a specialty in philosophy and political science. And Alveda King makes a lot of crazy remarks regarding social conservative thinking. Just as anyone who wants to justify any level of limitations of individual rights.
In this particular video both. Putting out stats like two out of every black child is aborted creates a bs conspiracy feeling. If you want to be a conservative and believe in individual rights then you don't get to pick and choose which ones you find comfortable for you and then impose them on everyone else. That's just ridiculous
Very astute prognosis by both you and Redeem One. I would agree perhaps 2 terms righting the ship, but as we see, we are already one term in and still no real recovery...it's like we are treading water.
