You still have a handful of Democrats (conservative blue Dogs) who are conservative in social issues too. I know it all to well knowing where I live.

But, the Democratic Platform will officially endorse gay marriage and this may put Blue Dogs on an alarm, which may work for or against the DNC.

I understand that just bc you vote democratic doesn't mean you aren't conservative in social issues.

I'm about as lenient as the come.

I'm not for abortion. I'm for a woman's own right to make her choice regarding her body when something as serious as a baby is on the line.

Should we help the less fortunate? Absolutely.

Want to have underage premarital sex? Go for it. Just be safe about it.

I am against the wealth penalty.

Except for instances of pedophiles who rape children. And I do don't think the dealth penalty is the answer. But if you get caught again and again for that same offense then something drastic NeEdS to be done.
Fucking with kids ain't fucking cool

With all of that said. Just because YOU (and not you MS) wouldn't marry the same sex hardly makes it ok for you to deny my right and ability to do so.

    That's for republican ANd dems.
    Straight across the board muthafukka.

I honestly wonder what gay Republicans and heaven knows there are many of those, would have to say about a party who stands against something that affects them so directly or certainly doesn't openly endorse it.

Would be interesting to have them in a group and hear their positions.

    :smt112 Damn iPhone.

But onward to the post, individual minds belonging to the collective. But it's also fueled with district representation. Democrats in more conservative districts are more likely to go with the majority-rule constituency and that would basically affect the voting record to not be a pure one-sided vote.

Officially, that's the platform, but Log Cabin Republicans do have some conservative friends and organizations like GOProud that actually endorses gay rights, which includes marriage. Margaret Hoover and Grover Norquist are two people who actually favors it.

As for the main thing, from what I have gathered, gay Republicans tolerate the stances, but they don't want to be labeled based on one issue. They may want gay rights, but they are also conservative (staunchly) on other areas like abortion, fiscal policies, etc...

But I do feel bad for them, especially when the official platform don't care for them to treated as equals.

Okay I see. Kind of figured the other facets of their political stance kind of overshadowed that issue.

Would seem like it keeps them perpetually trapped in the closet, a don't ask don't tell mindset, do you but don't expect us to address any issues around it.

They're out and proud, but they still feel less than equal in a society that's suppose to be about life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

If Mitt wins I have a feeling paul Ryan will be the one governing & will pull the country far far right.

Is Ryan gonna secure the Catholic vote for the ticket? As he is a catholic and anti-obama care. I think Obama got the catholic vote by in large in '08.

Damn. Well, I can respect that (economically at least). But still, I'm glad you're on here, Wunword. Now I'm still waiting for your brother Tuwurds to pop out somewhere.

There are a lot of blacks who would identify themselves as conservative, at least on a social level.
