You have your own problems to confront on here so worry about yourself.

It's not me. I remember that Kid Rasta does it. I just believe that it doesn't make much of a difference (racially) if you move from one industrialized country to another.

That link to that story didn't happen anywhere near London, plus how many times has something like happened in the States and didn't even make the news?

Plus what do the London riots have to do with dating white people?

Nice of you to care, but the damage has been done, so no need to try and make myself look like I need help. As I said, you're a kid with an over-analytically driven mind.

giggles at a child who probably never left his state, let alone country, to try and tell someone not to go somewhere

You'll have a great time. Actually London was where I'd had my first IR, at the young age of 18 - loved it there :D

The reason it occurred was because of a police officer and a black person. (I believe). When I think about it, I'm actually in shock. I remember the TV showing us the cockpit of a helicopter hovering around several buildings on fire. I'm not just saying this to one-up against your country, I generally have a feeling of unease traveling there after a travesty like that happened.

Okay. Nobody is perfect and I guess I understand why people have conflict on these forums. People are who they are. At least I'm not here to diminish the black race or act like an afrocentrist (black nationalist) on this site. That would be even worse. Some people just don't like the way I set up my posts. I guess that's why my dad said that I sound/talk like like a white male professor and not really a black person. Nobody can please everyone, online and offline.

Good thing you said probably, because your post is wrong anyway. I have traveled to several places already throughout my life, but I don't see the need to invest time in telling you.

Also, you need to look at this post.

The United States and England did not make it on his list. It warrants some consideration.

The riots had nothing to do with the shooting of Marc Duggan in Tottenham which even his own family and friends say this. It was a bunch of oppertunists who saw a weakness from the law and took their chance to go a rampage and steal stuff.

There are long running issues with people in Tottenham north london and the police but people didn't go robbing and burning down stores up and down England because some guy they just heard about on the news got shot.

The country is safe. The chances of something happening to you if you came to London is very small.

It would be like saying people should not visiting America because of those shooting sprees.

Everyone else can clearly see all the points you've made... except one person.

And thank you for sharing your informative perspective from England. [IMG]

Ok, a weakness from the law. I searched for a reason through Google and one of the important reasons why this occurred is because of inequality and class. It is present there and also obviously present in the United States as well. This particular paragraph from the site explains it clearly.

Do you agree with the reasoning that the riots occurred because minorities are at an economic/financial disadvantage compared to white people?

I see it too. Relax man, I'm not that arrogant.

Many of the people who rioted had jobs and were not poor or from broken homes. One girl was the daughter of a millionaire and there were plenty of 12 year old kids throwing bricks at cops and looting shops.

My family are part of the windrush immigrants who came over to britain in the late 50s/early 60s from the caribbean and they really had it hard. I have aunts and cousins who were born and rised in tottenham and they went to university, have jobs and have their own businesses.

Britain is in a recession its hard out there for alot of people regardless of race.

The police do still have serious issues to address in Britain (it was only in the
90s when they were forced to admit they were institutionally racist) but they have changed and are still changing although there are some dirty prejudice cops out there.

Here is a pretty insightful documentary that aired on the BBC recently called Can We Trust The Police?

Ok, I understand. Thanks for enlightening me, great post. I'll watch the clip and reply back soon since it's almost an hour long.

You're probably right. However, some guy named Rick from The Daily Mail had posted a racially biased news article after the start of the Olympic games ceremony which featured a black man and a white woman walking together across the area.

Within a few hours, the article was deleted but people managed to save on it. Here are the critical excerpts from the article.
