I really wish these women would stop ruining their heads and various other parts of their bodies with these illusions to make themselves more 'pretty'.

All that stuff eventually catches up with you.

I've heard some use the term, but only "sisters", not in the "sistas" sense. That does sound patronizing. But to each his own.

    Damn!

You must be in the midwest. :D

The use of "sisters" is usually in the sense of the international women's movement. Exhibit A:

But Canadian white chicks using the term sistas sounds as believable as Arabic dudes through up gang signs and screaming yolo. Sorry I don't buy it.

Unless you were raised in Cabrini Green, you should probably make sure you fully enunciate the "ers" version, not the "as" one. Hell, my momma doesn't even break street like that.

That is the first thing that came to my mind. The hair style in those Kung Fu flicks I saw as a kid.

That is the thing though, Naomi is someone who has always been in the spotlight for her beauty. Its been her money maker and the industry she was/is in is cut throat about that. If you have so much as a skin blemish, your'e out.

Being who she is she will always have the cameras on her, it so happened they caught her in that inopportune moment for her as you stated.

Of all the images I have seen of her over the years I would never have expected to see that that is what lies underneath the extensions.

I was definitely shocked at that reality.

And to think critics wanted Gabby Douglas, the black female gymnast who won Gold, to start putting it in her head.

Making fun of her hair because she has it naturally.

Shows how fucked up the whole scenario is.

Thankfully she stated, people can say whatever they want, she is going to keep her hair just the way it is.

Very good for her, if this is the price you pay down the road as with Naomi Campbell.

i think gabby looked good as is

people really need to get a fucking grip

the fact that she's so talented and set for life after her performance, has many people pissed off. instead of attacking her success like they really want to, they're just nitpicking.

Exactly my sentiments. Not a darn thing was wrong with her hair from watching the Gymnastic events she took part in.

It was all her's, natural and worn for her convenience.

    basically

not really sure what they were expecting her to do with it

sad tho..it used to be kinda off-limits and really shitty to attack kid performers. like Showtime at the Apollo, where the audience wasn't allowed to boo the kids during the talent show portion. that's real pathetic, especially if the people dissing gabby were grown fucking people.

Its pure ignorance and jealousy. Anyone who has ever had to work for anything would never say dumb shit like that. Probably just ghetto trash pissed that that's all they'll ever be.
My only critique of the whole Gabby thing is I hate that they have to point out she's the first African American to get the all around metal like that shit shouldn't have happened.

    didnt u know?

we're only supposed to be good at b-ball and football

don't even get me started on the black UFC belt holders like Anderson and Ben Henderson (ya he's mixed, but he's still a brotha:p)

i know Bob Costas came under some real tight scrutiny over his gabby remarks tho

then the whole 'racist' monkey ad that followed gabby's performance

    lol
